Geoff Hoon v Downing Street

Geoff Hoon on Any Questions: "I will be attending Cabinet every week."
Downing Street Spokesman: "Mr Hoon will attend Cabinet when needed."

Who's right?

Rumour has it that Mr Hoon is reconsidering accepting his demotion to Minister of State...

They could both be right. He could be needed every week.

Not likely, though.

Following on from the reshuffle, will David Cameron appoint a shadow minister for social exclusion within the shadow cabinet?

IDS likes the word "social", so it could be him, although Eric Forth would be great fun. I expect it might be Michael Gove...

Really, has the man NO pride? He should tell Tony where to put his job. After all, he won't be unemployed like normal people, he'll still have the MP's salary, the allowances, the expenses, the perks etc. etc. etc. From the look of those "additional expenses" claimed, he must have paid off several mortgages by now.

It all sounds a bit like that Yes Prime Minister episode where Jim Hacker locks out Sir Humphrey and says 'if you are needed, you will be sent for' 'you mean when' 'Of course when..and if'

I have this image of Hoon at the windows of Blairs office asking to be let in.

Maybe Prescott is there as a sort of lightning rod?

As far as I'm concerend and I bet a few would agree, Prescott has always been a bit of a joke, I have considered him worse than useless for a long time now. So how is the fact that the Labour party has finally woken up to this point news?

Speaking of Prescott.... one intruiging line in the expose last week..... Shaggers claimed to know who had slept with who.... and almost everyone gets the bullet except - guess who?

Ah! Warms the cockles of a conspiracists heart.
Behold! The Uriah Heap of New Labour!
