Sutton LibDems Accuse Labour of Dirty Tricks

Things are getting nasty in the London Borough of Sutton as the local elections approach. LibDems are accusing Labour of dirty tricks after they put the website www.suttonlibdems.org.uk on one of their leaflets. If you click on it, you get pure anti LibDem propaganda, courtesy of Sutton Labour Party. If you go to the official Sutton LibDem Website you might find it strange there's no mention of their candidates for the upcoming Borough elections. Local LibDem leaflets (pic left) urge you to "please visit our website to see our 2002 and 2006 manifestos". Well try as I might I couldn't find any mention of either, or indeed anything about what the Local LibDems have achieved for their area on the website. Perhaps that says it all.

What can I say? 'Ah, diddums' seems to cover it.

Lib Dems accusing anybody of dirty tricks? Mr Kettle, I have a call for you from Mr Pot....

Richard Collier may find it helpful to read MozillaZine:

If you see strange strings while viewing a HTML message it's due to proprietary HTML tags created by Microsoft Word or another Microsoft application. Outlook hides these tags so somebody mainly using Microsoft software may not be aware of the problem they're causing.

Hi I think it is quite funny that the LibDems have only just noticed my suttonlibdems website as it has been up and unalterd since late 2001 or early 2002. In fact I must get round to updating it.

Sutton LibDems have got a judgement (PDF) from Nominet directing the return of this "abusively registered" domain name to them.
