BBC News Forced to Apologise to Major for Currie Slur
BBC News at Ten were just forced to issue an on the air apology to Sir John Major. Earlier in the programme they had shown an interview with Labour old fart Lord (Donald) Anderson who said that what Prescott was doing was quite OK since John Major had had an affair while Prime Minister, so the Tories couldn't throw stones. Huw Edwards was forced to apologise, saying that the affair with Edwina Currie had not happened while he was PM.

I noticed that and immediately rang the BBC. Disgraceful editing by the news team
So, um, basically you're saying it's fine to have an affair as long as you aren't a Prime Minister?
I'm not saying anything of the sort, or are you addressing that to Antony?
It was an error and they were right to correct it. I picked it up, but couldn't be bothered to complain about accuracy.
Don't stress about it.
My point was about the utter incompetence of the BBC that I pay for! How can a news team editing such a serious political issue not know that Major was shagging Currie before he was a cabinet minister?!?

How many Conservatives patted John Major on the back, winked and said good on you mate when they heard the news?
If its wrong, its wrong!
John Major criticising Prescott would be hypocritical. But those without sin, as it were... the right is yours.
