I've just been watching
STRAIGHT TALK in which Hazel Blears is given a half hour grilling by Andrew Neil. Right at the end of the interview she says...
"We cannot spend our way out of the recession."
Er, shome mishtake shurely. Isn't that exactly what her government is doing?

Thinks it is doing/wants us to think it is doing - shurely.
Definitely off-message
Yes but it WAS Hazel Blears! What do we expect?!
Uh oh.
Oooh dear, methinks yon chipmunk is going to get her botty spanked for daring to tell the truth.
'Isn't that exactly what her government is doing?'
Well, it is what they are trying to do. Whether it will actually take us out of recession is something else.
Labour's orbital mind-control laser was certainly malfunctioning, the people's revolutionary government only invests money, it doesn't spend it.
Well, it's an economic downturn so perhaps things are different. Is she lining up for afterwards?
Ooops, she was off piste with that message wasn't she. No doubt her pager failed moments before going on air.
Interesting that - They seem to have the consistency of a manic depressive on spending!
Blimee! There goes another tax-payer funded Nokia. And bleeding nail-beds.
PS The Captcha word for me to post this is BUMICATS. That could be a great new PC acceptable expletive at No 10. Mandy, are you reading this?
Sometimes you get the feeling Hazel knows the game is up.
Thankfully she won't have to duck far to avoid the flying mobile phone at the cabinet table.
She'll do better in opposition - if she can hold her seat.
The chipmunk is right for once. We actually have to WORK our way out of the recession... There is no easy option.
I don’t know who this woman Hazel Blear is, but from her comments I would imagine her mother and father are ashamed of her and her opinions.
Her parents point was to put your best foot forward no matter what, but of course the director of the film wanted the authentic ‘working class’ not someone who lives in a 2 up 2 down in Salford who wants something better for their children.
This is no time for a do-nothing chipmunk.
If we spend enough money on chinese made imports, china will not suffer a recession - simple.
