Use this thread to post comments about the Queen's Speech as it happens.
To start off with, I don't think David Cameron exchanged a single word with Gordon Brown during their walk to the Lords, whereas Brown was gabbling away 19 to the dozen!
UPDATE: Was that the shortest Queen's Speech in living memory? Normally there are 17-22 bills. Today Her Majesty announced thirteen, I think. As a small state Tory I welcome that! You could of course accuse them of running out of ideas...

Osborne was talking to Jackboot Jacqui. I wonder what was said? He better not have too much or she'll have the police around to arrest him this afternoon.
Crash Gordon will have been told my Mandy that it will look good on TV if he is conversational with Dave, but as usually with a certain personality disorder when he starts he will not be able to stop.
Do you think that the "hostage" held whilst the Queen is in Parliament will be executed?

"Any Tory moles at the Palace"
Well they do hate each other.
Just seen a classic on the Parliament Channel.
Her Majesty had a quick chat with Jack Straw on her way out of the Lords. Jack opened up his document bag to reassure Her Majesty that indeed her speech was in it. After the Queen moved away, The Duke of Edinburgh moved in to chat with Straw. The Duke opened the bag and gestured as if he was extracting the speech and tossing it away.
My sentiments exactly
I'll bet Prince Philip has made some choice remarks in private about the current government. Imagine if the Queen or Philip ever wrote up their diaries. It would be an all time best-seller.
We don't need any moles in the palace, the government leaked the contents of the speech over the weekend.
I especially liked the part in the speech about strenghthening parliament. Most amusing.
I've never seen a Queen's speech so full of waffle, disappointing, even by Labour standards.
Re Brown gabbling away. He did it last time. It's for the cameras.
Cameron didn't answer then or today, because Brown was simply making rhubarb noises.
New labour - Same drivel since 1997.
Hmmm... only 13 bills. Added to the return of Peter Mandelson and the plausible interpretation of recent events as a dirty tricks campaign, dare we put two and two together and make a General Election before this time next year?
If they can get the postal ballots and other ballot fixing tricks in place in time then we will have an early election.
The BBC have turned the Queens Speech into a Whitehall Farce of the Brian Rix variety with Sopel interviewing (actually he prostitutes the profession of interviewing) Blunkett and Hune on St Stephens Green (?).
An absolute appalling travesty of a question and answer where Blunkett was allowed to get away with excusing the mass repetition of failed initiatives like Welfare Reform by saying you need time! TIME ! after 11 years.
Apparently Parliament is like 'air traffic control' where you miss a slot!
Our BBC idiot forgets to ask who put all the planes going to nowhere in the air in the first place!
My word verification was the entirely appropriate 'prole' ...
Thats me all right, and we are all living through Orwell's vision.
Did anyone see the Speaker's throat 'move' when HM announced measures to make the Police more accountable? Also at that time Edward Leigh broke into a broad grin!
As this gentleman so rightly says :

I was standing in Central Lobby near the front and when Cameron and Brown entered the Lobby Cameron was saying something about Botswana....
