UPDATE: Stephen Glenn has pointed out an error. In the original list, number 26 was Peter Cranie, who is actually a green blog based in England. The LibDem blog Anything Caron Can Do should have been listed at number 26 so I have now added it in. My apologies to Iain Dale (the other one!) who writes Anything Caron Can Do for the error.
These blogs were voted for by the readers of more than 60 UK political blogs and the readers of TOTAL POLITICS Magazine. Each person voted for their top ten blogs. Their favourite was awarded ten points, their second favourite nine points and so on down to one point. 1,142 people cast a vote.
The full results will be published in the Guide to Political Blogging in the UK 2008-9 which is published on 5 September and will be available at all the party conferences. You can now also pre-order it via the Total Politics website for £12 inc p&p. You will receive it in mid September.

Fantastic stuff!
Personally chuffed with a top 3 spot but the Scottish blogging scene has been bursting with energy for a long while now. A new blog seems to pop up every week.
Your results also just goes to show how appreciated it is when MPs blog, so congrats to Tom Harris on his top spot.
Top 50 English blogs?
Pipped to the top 10 but happy to make a return to you blogging lists Iain after being in the inaugural Top 100 Lib Dem Blogs. Can't wait for tomorrow now see if I make the LIb Dem Top 50.
It all seems a bit incestuous to me.
With all these lists appearing on what seems to be a daily basis perhaps we should have one for top readers too!?
It will be about as exciting!!
have i made your top 50 Lib Dems or not?
No Scottish Patient?
Got to say I raised a smile when I saw a blog named 'Justified Spinner'. ;-)
Sorry to interrupt Iain when he's busy plugging his Guide to Political Blogging 2008-09 (available from all good bookstores etc etc) but it would be nice to see a bit of support for one political blog (Harry's Place - formerly of www.hurryupharry.org, currently squatting at jennadelich.blogspot.com) which has been shut down after a malicious complaint to their ISP.
Iain,
How many people actually voted in the poll for top 40 Scottish blogs? I'd love to know if more voted in this than for Tavish Scott to be new Scottish Lib Dem leader.
Cheers,
ScottishToryBoy
I'm with anonymous. Also more info and discussion here, here, here and here.
Glad to have made it. Think Jeff, Eugenides and Tom deserve their rankings. Well done to all - in the spirit of cross-party consensus!
Incidentally, as STB requests, how many votes were cast?
SNP blogs should be coloured yellow!
I, personally, am outraged!
Malc, as it says in the original post, I had votes from 1,142 people.
Wouldn't just the top 10 do?
Ah yes... so it does.
And that's why he's only at number 28...
Iain: what's a “sopabox”?
Congratulations to Tom, Mr E, Jeff and everyone else!
Why're some SNPers blue, and others purple?
When are we going to have the top 100 Isle of Man blogs?
Delighted to make the top seven but I have on question.
There might be an obvious answer to this. But I can't work it out.
Why is Peter Cranie, an English MEP, included in this list?
Tom Harris - never! Smug, and he never answers any questions put to him on Labour policy - especially Civil Liberties. The worst of New Labour, dressed up as "open" politics. Man's a tit.
The tartan hero blog rated at number 14 does not exist according to blogger - strange !
This is last year's list...
WOW GOLD, nice blog. its worth reading. I liked it very much
