From my Indy on Sunday diary...Next week sees the publication of a collection of pen portraits of his contemporaries and heroes by former Tory MP Jonathan Aitken. If the publicity for the book is to be believed Aitken will cast judgement on the two Michaels, Portillo & Howard. The born again Christian is unlikely to be too unkind to them as they were both regular visitors during his unfortunate period of incarceration. However, his fellow Category C inmate Jeffrey Archer doesn’t escape quite so lightly, I’m told. Both men have lived life on the edge in both their financial and sexual lives so a judgement by one on the other could be very revealing. Sword of truth anyone?
