Ming Campbell 'Currantly' Out of Touch

Sky News reporter: It's a wide ranging reshuffle, Sir Ming, what do you make of it?
Ming Campbell: I haven't really kept up with it. I've been travelling, you know.

Doesn't the old boy know how to use one of those portable telephonic instruments? Or maybe in an economy drive the LibDems have clamped down on mobile phone use. £2.4 million's a lot to pay back, you know.

Ming Campbell: "Winning Richmond was the icing on the cake - and the cherry."

What cake exactly? They made a net gain of one Council and a net gain of a measly 18 councillors. Cherry? it's hardly a wizened currant.

That Menzies Campbell thought that the Liberal Democrats were only ever going to 'consolidate' in the local electinos really brings up the question - just when exactly could they do any more than that? When was there a better time to nick Labour's councils? They're not showing their 'real opposition' credentials.

Ming gave the Lib Dems a false sense of security. Supporters like him as he speaks their language. However, this does not translate or resonate outside their Party.

Local elections are Lib Dem 'bread and butter' activities. He is a liability. Long Live the Ming!!
