Off to the Sunny Climes of .... Watford

Today I will be mostly blogging... nothing. Off to Watford now to see the West Ham game. I do hope Hornets fans Kerron Cross and Mark Oaten will enjoy their evening - but not too much. Hopefully at around 10pm tonight the M25 will be resounding to the sound of me singing this little ditty...

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle all the way
Oh what fun it is to see
West Ham win away

Oh, Jingle Bells.... etc

I apologise for being distinctly unprolific today, but even I deserve a day off. Even if I have been working all day. No rest for the obsessed.

Watford West Ham sounds beyond the call of duty for anyone!

A loss at home for West Ham is on the cards for 5th November, Iain...

I doubt Oaten will be there (he rarely is) but I'll wave at you from the Rookery - I'll be about half way up just to the right of the goal.

There is an old Manx saying about chickens, hatching and Marlon King which springs to mind here but I'll leave you to work it out. :-)

Come on you Horns!!!! :-)

(PS I'm scared!)

Iain, in much more exciting news. . .
I was just crossing the road in Altrincham (South Manchester), and who should have to swerve out of the way to avoid hitting me? The Wintertons!

Lazy swine. You'll be going down the tubes like Guido next. Only as good as your last headline, remember. We punters are fickle...

Don't want to tempt fate too much - but the Hammers should be top of the league tonight!!! :)

On this issue at least I can find common cause with Mr D.

Incidentally on your main blog page this post says:
"Posted at 3.54 pm"

whereas in the Comments page, if you use the Show Original Post option it says:
"posted at 7.54am"

This suggests you are living in Tijuana or on the Pacific Rim. Perhaps you're in the wrong time zone like Dr Who.

1-1 draw. West Ham manager admitted Watford was the better team. Watford manager is from a good family, I hear.

Must have been better than the game I went to - £15 to see Palace lose to Notts bloody Landing. Still can laugh at Forest losing to Accrington Stanley - Who are they?

Fair result and a good game Iain. I was in the same stand as you West Ham fans, although there were loads of you in our part.

Iain,

An ex-Hammer (Stewart Pearce) used to find certain music prior to the game motivational. I think he used to put iron maiden on in the dressing room.

What did you listen to before the game?

I think you might need to change your tunes...

I was right about being wary of Marlon!

I've done a piece on the game on my site - http://kerroncross.blogspot.com/2006/08/how-did-we-not-win-that.html - so won't re-iterate all the comments here.

But I thought we (more than) edged the game. Watford undone again by a dodgy handball decision on the goal. Please will all referees do some research on what an arm/hand actually is - thanks. :-/

Do West Ham United have a song to cellebrate away draws. This may come in more handy than the fans may like, but its always good to be prepared.

Something like

One one, one one, one one, one one, one one, one one, one one, one one, one one, one one, one one, one one, one one, one one.

The fans should get the words sorted reasonably quickly.

I started hearing Christmas jingles at the end of this past June. It is getting earlier every year.
