I Don't Do Statporn Anymore, But...

I've stopped doing Statporn each month as everyone seemed to be bored by it. But I'm going to make an exception this month as May proved to be the biggest month in the blogs history with 174,383 absolute unique visitors. If you include people who accessed the blog by RSS feed the total is probably nearer 200,000.

Thank you to all of you who have supported me by reading the blog through the years. There have been times, especially in recent months, when I have questioned whether I will continue doing it, but the fact that neaarly 200,000 people read it makes me keep going. And from your reaction in the 2010 blog survey you clearly like what I'm doing. Mostly!

I bet several 'serious' political journalists would kill for 200k readers on their blogs :-D

To paraphrase Mrs Merton:
Why on earth would you make an exception of this month, Mr Dale?

Iain, please keep on doing this blog.
Some nights you're like a cosy coal fire or a good meal with wine to me.
You see, I work with five or so Guardianistas and you don't know how tough it is. When I come home to you at night it's like having a favourite uncle in the house, and someone who speaks good old fashioned common sense.
Keep it up - you're a huge comfort!
