Jason Cowley, the new editor of the New Statesman writes in the magazine's diary this week...
Our new co-proprietor, Mike Danson is, like Geoffrey Robinson, a football man. He supports Manchester United (he's from the north-west so that's allowable) but has season tickets at Chelsea.

What? Any genuine football fan will be open mouthed after reading that! To support one team and then give thousands of pounds to their main rival so he can watch them every week is either a perfect example of masochism or a perfect example of the Fast Show's Roger, the nouveau football fan.
