Entering the Swampland
If you're into American politics check out TIME Magazine's Swampland blog. Joe Klein contributes to it. In this week's print magazine he takes a swipe a blog bullies in the left wing blogosphere HERE.
The left always bullies whether they be Democrats of eco-loonies. Their tactics are to shout down reasonable argument or resort to insults and slander. They know their arguments and policies have been proven to be crap. So bullying is their only resort.
I have, de temps en temps, detected just the teeniest bit of bile and bullying creeping into comments from people on the right to say nothing of those, like most Lib Dem and Green part members, who haven't a clue if they're left, right, centre or nowhere.
It's a shame that the internet, which in theory allows everyone to communicate with everyone else, attracts so many people who find it so difficult to construct a sensible argument. No wonder you have to moderate comments, I hope it doesn't steal too much of your time...
"It's a shame that the internet, which in theory allows everyone to communicate with everyone else, attracts so many people who find it so difficult to construct a sensible argument."
Why is that a surprise? Life is full of people who cannot construct a sensible argument. It's got nothing to do with the internet. It's the human condition.
"drowned out by a fierce, bullying, often witless tone of intolerance that has overtaken the left-wing sector of the blogosphere"
Now it's blogs, before it was newspapers and (still) TV as well as university speakers shouted down/insulted/assaulted and so on for the last forty years at least.
And yet they'll tell you with a straight face they are in favour of yooman rights, freedom etc.
Same pathetic self serving cr*p as before, just a new medium.
