ConservativeHome Strikes Gold

I have been in Norwich all day so let me catch up now by congratulating Jonathan Isaby on his new job as co-editor of ConservativeHome. I can think of few people in political journalism who know the Tory Party and have better contacts than Jonathan and I am sure he will bring a huge amount of knowledge not to mention a lot of humour to the site.

I had thought Tim would find it almost impossible to replace Sam Coates, but in Jonathan he has found a truly outstanding individual. While I am at it, I wish Sam all the best in his new job as part of David Cameron's speechwriting team.

I wonder if I would get 164 applications (like Tim did) if I advertised for an assistant to run this blog... Shame I can't afford one, and I am a bloody nightmare to work for anyway, as dozens can testify to!

Good.

Con-Home was as dry as Gordon's budget. I hope Sam doesn't tractorise Cameron.

"As dozens can testify." Full stop. Never end a sentence with a preposition...

Who can give the Churchillian comeback here....?

if that is his car reg, you have said more with one picture than with a thousand words, I didn't know anything about him until now; I think I preferred it that way.

Be advised.

The inter character spacing of this Number Plate is in contravention of EU Directive 2003/39/22.

This Transport Harmonisation enablement is mandatory(not advisory) on member states.

Transport matters are not now a competence within the jurisdiction of the UK administration.

This Directive is further enforced within successive UK Provincial Governments Statutory Instruments and The Road Traffic Act 2004.

The purpose of such harmonisation is to prevent the reduction in efficiency of APNR cameras across The state of Europe.

As an aside this is essentially for the protection of all our citizens.

The miscreant would be encouraged to consider his options.

The penalties in the UK Province are not yet draconian .
Car immediate confiscation for validation and a fine of 8000 euros Max or detention for 4 months.

However the situation is not so benevolent elsewhere within European Union.

Should the offence be committed within another member state the issuance of a European Arrest Warrant would necessitate the owners appearance at the point of issue.
Detention without appeal would be normal for the process of justice typically some 4 months in most member states.

Happy motoring and yes AUDIs are exempt!

You're actually alright to work for - once one gets to know you! Dozens more will testify to that.

Don't worry anonymous as a friend I can assure you he has the non-contravening plate in his boot..don't suppose Mr Isaby would ever want to contravene an EU directive. Thanks for you concern and comments
