EXCLUSIVE: UKIP Leader's Son Joins Cameron's Conservatives

I hear on the grapevine that Conservative Future at Exeter University have a new member, who has a high profile father. Daddy won't be amused though, for he's none other than UKIP leader Nigel Farage. Obviously son Sam is none too impressed by UKIP's offerings and has fallen under the spell of Dave. Sensible lad.

Tony Blair's Dad was a Conservative.

Good for Nigel letting his son make his own decision.

There are far too many parents who sign their kids up to political parties, some the moment they're born, and take them out leafleting brainwash them right from the start.

One of my sons joined Labour at university and the other the Conservatives. It's called thinking for themselves which let's face it - is what university is supposed to encourage - that and propping up the union bar.

P.S.
As you can imagine Christmas and family gatherings were "wonderful" until their mother threatened to "handbag" them if she heard anymore political arguments over the dinner table.

Slightly old fasioned Iain, don't you think? Every little boy and girl is born a little Conservative or Labour little boy and girl?
Or are adults to be allowed, even encouraged, in our bright new dawn, to question the allegiances of their parents?

HOORAY!
Voting UKIP is as pointless as sweeping up sand with a dustpan and brush in the Sahara Desert.
Those who want Labour out of office should get their shoulders behind the wheels by backing David Cameron.

It's the 'University of Exeter'. 'Exeter University' makes it sound like an old polytehnic.

Re the headline: David Cameron has absolutely no ownership of the Conservative Party, which is known thusly.

MOST UKIP MEMBERS ARE EX TORY AND ITS VOTERS ARE EX TORY VOTERS- SO WHATS THE BIG DISCOVERY?

Yes but the symbolism of this must not be misread . we need tolerance of disagreement in the right coalition. Those who might be UKIP inclined are usually so for a package of related policy positions and not just the European question.

The Liberals that must feel they are welcome and respected are at one end of the spectrum and the UKIPPERS at the other . It is up to all of us to find common ground and show courtesy to potential and present allies.

For the remainder there can be nothing but contempt

Browns family were also Conservatives and very wealthy indeed actually.

Yes, Newmania - I was very interested in the history of Brown that you posted the other day. I didn't realise his family had such a little fiefdom and that they were so monied and powerful.

errr... i vote UKIP and i'm an ex-Labour supporter.

i'll be voting Tory though at the next election just to ensure that the current shower of Marxists dont get back into office because of a fractured right wing vote.

And John Bercow is a Tory! Right?

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em - then beat them.

The shower of Marxists remains in power in Brussels regardless of who is running the Westminster parish council. UKIP is the only party directing its fire in their direction.

After he's been in the tories for a while he'll become disillusioned by Call Me Dave's leadership and defect to... UKIP!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Whilst I find it astonishing that anybody actually cares what I'm up to, it is important for me to stress that i a in full support of my father and UKIP. I do not know how Mr. Dale found out about my joining the Conservative Future at the University of Exeter, however, I shouldn't think it to 'sensible' of him or any other of you to read a great deal into this fact.

Dale, you've sunk to a new low now!

Iain Dale said...

Trixy, how so? He's confirmed it above and he's 18, so what's your point? If Euan Blair had joined the LibDems, wouldn't that have been a story? Get your head out of the sand.

Trixy said...

If someone doesn't make political capital out of areas of their life, then they should be left alone.

When has Nigel ever used his children to try to further his politics? Never. So why can't his children be left alone?

And as for my head being in the sand? don't make me laugh.

Can someone be a member of Conservative Future without being a member of the Conservative Party?

Students at the University of Exeter are overwhelmingly Tory so perhaps the poor lad was just trying to fit in?!

.......maybe UKIP youth (or Young Independence to give it its proper title) hasn't yet got a branch at the University of Exeter. But whatever good luck to Mr Farage Jnr. It shows just how democractic UKIP and it's leader are.

VOTE UKIP!!
