Just watched it and find it amazing that a Party with candidates wanting to form a government have adverts that fail to lay out one single policy for voters to support or buy into.
This "blue rosette to replace red rosette" crap is what drove me to UKIP in the first place. Stop bitching like a school girl and tell people WHY are you better, WHAT are you going to do?
Well, it’s the morning after the night before. I’m listening to some very angry and hurt voters talking about the Chancellor's position. The wounds from last night will take a long time to heal.
I have to be honest and say that I had expected Darliong to have been sacked by now. I really thought we would now be discussing who should be brought in for the rest of the Parliament. But Gordon Brown has expressed his full confidence in Darling so the dye seems to have been cast. Perhaps he has been given the next month to retrieve the situation.
Do you think Darling should quit or be sacked now, or be left in position to try to turn it around?
Mr Heaver, until an election has been called the opposition parties need say nothing about policies, need give away no ideas, they must only oppose and keep mum about policies. So though the manifesto will already be at the printers spokespersons can only oppose and point out problems to be attended to do so that the governing party can answer, as it must. When the election has been called and all parties have printed up what they have to offer you will see all of them and it will be too late for Labour to say, of course we were going to do that (flat tax, abolish quangoes, get a refund from the EU, have weekly bin collection, refund landfill tax to landscape gardeners taking landfill waste, etc etc.) Just wait for the election to be called - and if a pollster asks say you might vote Labour, it might encourage Broon to get on and go to the palace sooner.
This is exactly the sort of seat to which the tories should be devoting resources. Some will query the wisdom of spending resources on your 250th target seat with the polls now showing Labour 8 short of a majority but then again it's the last thing they'll be expecting you to do.
You have to laugh at these people coming here nitpicking and saying "wheres the policies blah blah blah" over what is a campaign video aimed primarily for Conservative party members. Haven't you people got better things to do then come here and trying to start a pointless petty ping-pong argument to fill your dull little lives? No one gives a toss.
And I'm sure this candidate will be explaining the Conservative party's policy to those living in this constituency come the election.
Given that Darling will not say where any cuts will fall until NEXT NOVEMBER I think the comments from Heaver et al are a bit rich - but quite frankly the simple reason to get rid of Balls is that he is a lying dissembling oleaginous bastard
The only good thing I ever had to look forward to was my free bus pas and now the swine of a lying Chancellor has taken that away. They have also stuffed SERPS pensions and made life miserable for sociable people in Somerset Dorset Devon and Cornwall.
I would donate, but I just can't bring myself to support someone who can't pronounce lieutenant properly - even if his victory would mean no more Ed Balls.

How can they do that when they don't even know what their own policies actually are? This government's policies may be a load of stinking manure but at least we know what they are. Eric Pickles, for example, seems to devote his life to writing letters to the Prime Minister which he knows won't get answered. (and which all seem to get published on Iain Dale's Diary, funnily enough)
For some reason, I am unable to watch this video. Perhaps it's because my internet connection is rather slow today, I don't know. However, anything which is likely to cause Ed Balls trouble is welcome in my book.
I cannot believe how crass and childish that advert is. I'm not affiliated to any party and typically vote for the best choice. I thought that was Tory but the negative rubbish like this is why I won't be voting Tory
God I wish that someone would form a decent party that actually treats voters as people and has real policy that provide what this country needs.
It is a worthy cause to endeavour to get out one of the masters of spin. One of the worst phrases is "Labour Investment v. Tory Cuts"
Whilst it is good to spend money on hospitals, schools etc. Labour forgot that they are not investment in the financial sense. They do not provide a stream of financial returns in the future that will fund the cost. Rather they provide increased liabilities. That is, they bring increased financial commitments. Over half the forecast National Debt of £1400bn in 2014 will be due to the spinners forgetting this fact. Ed Balls is one of the leaders of this wrecking of the public finances, so Anthony Calvert's campaign is a cause that should be wholeheartedly supported.
Not a Cameroon, me, but I hope this is a success and Balls is removed.
On the other hand, Balls still in the HoC would be good, as it would make the impending "fisson" of Labour/Left all the more entertaining and cat-o-strop-ic.
I'm torn, I must say.
p.s. @WrinkedWeasel Darling won't be sacked - Brown hasn't the guts.
p.p.s. "Balls and McBride were thick as thieves"...so that makes McBride the thief then. Brrmm-tish!
When will the Conservatives learn that negative campaigning is no match for positive campaigning? All Cameron and co have done is go on the attack - it is boring. Tell us what you can do and don't attack Labour's record as it acn always be countered; it also comes across as nasty. This particular Conservative candidate sounds like a complete tool. I wouldn't vote for him in a month of Sundays. He doesn't hold a candle to Balls. Balls is super intelligent and went to Harvard. This guy sounds like he previously worked at the local chippy. He didn't actually say anything of worth - all he did was attack Balls.

why doesn't he just ask Ashcroft for some more dosh?
Even for someone who isn't going to vote \\conservative this looks like a worthy cause.
Childish rubbish... nice to see the fall of Portillo again though.

(Shamelessly stolen from another blog)
@Michael Heaver
"...WHAT are you going to do?" As if you really cared.
Just Google his name, Antony Calvert, and read what he has to say on his website.
Why is your post so negative? Oh, that's right you're trying to score a point.
If ever there was a reason to vote neither for Labour nor the Tories this video was it.
Completely empty, just like Cameron and his followers.
What did we as a people do deserve this waste of space cadre of career politicians?
Which pill will you take, the red one or the blue.
It doesn't really matter as they are both placebos.
I used to find the labour trolls tiresome
now we have libdem and UKIP.....

I do like the line about castrating Labour and Balls out
Interesting because I watched the video and literally pressed the stop button after about 45 seconds and then I read these comments
I am not a fan of Ed Balls whatsoever but I share the sentiments of the majority of the posters
The two party system is bankrupt and we are being ruled as opposed to a democracy..
I'm fed up with the lot of them & in particular I don't see any change if there is either a Conservative or a Labour Govt post May 6th
Balls out! Fail Spode!
