ReplyDeleteWhat I meant was, if 3% of the readership are elected politicians, and the monthly unique readers are about 65,000, 3% of 65,000 is around 2,000.
Hitting 'delete' will not make me go away or magically back-date your PCC paperwork.

Not sure what you mean by that. Logic is certainly not yours. There were various geographical choices - London being one and South East being another. 27% live in London, 19% live in the South East.

ReplyDeleteIt would be interesting to know the distribution of the remaining 36% (according to my unreliable aritmetic) within England who aren't in London or the South East (assuming there wasn't just an other area of England option).

ReplyDeleteIan, as one of the willing respondents, I suspect that all you can say with certainty is that 3% of the 1100+ respondents described themselves as politicians.
ReplyDeleteOn a survey which is not balance-sampled, and depends wholly on respondents' decision to participate, I would have thought that to extrapolate from that result to an assumption that 3% of the entire unique readership are politicians is, statistically, a bit risky.
After all, isn't that the kind of figures spin that you constantly (and correctly) casatigate when it is done by politicians?
It won't however stop me from continuing to be a regular reader...............
