Spied enjoying himself at a Ditchley Park weekend think-thingy on Anglo-Sino
relations was John Prescott. Not quite croquet in Dorneywood, though I'm assured
the Oxfordshire pile isn't too good for the workers. Old rogue Prezza, when
deputy premier, was appointed by Tony Blair to keep an eye on Beijing, and the
Chinese revere former leaders. My informant was somewhat surprised to spot the
bike minister, Rosie Winterton (below left), presumably invited because the
Chinese like to cycle.
What can he mean?
Maguire seems to write as badly as he speaks, Iain.
ReplyDeleteWhy does Kevin think 'Dave' is 'smug'? Sour grapes?
ReplyDeleteI think Kevin Maguire secretly admires David Cameron but he doesn't quite know how to make 'the switch'.
I enjoyed watching Vivienne Westwood last night on Newsnight. She explained her reasons for her recent support of DC and the modern Conservative Party.
It was interesting - and Michael Gove was very insightful in his analysis of her new book/manifesto (Active resistance to propaganda).

Has anyone dared to tell Pauline?
ReplyDeleteCycling in the bedroom?
ReplyDeletePS> Iain - please tell Michael Gove that he looks SO much better with his glasses ON! They suit him.
ReplyDeleteHe should work the 'brainy' look and ditch the contact lenses!!!
:)
Cycle = The office or works bike! everyone rides it!
ReplyDeletePerhaps Prescott is not the only rider?
Yes, what can he mean? Please do explain what you think he means Iain. Are you just going to let your anonymous friends run with this??

ReplyDeleteWhat Maguire is saying in coded form is that Prezza was seen yet again in the company of Rosie Winterton and not his wife Pauline.
The bike think is just crude, but alludes to the fact that allegedly Ms Winterton has been Prezza's long term lover/mistress. Frankly who cares....A failed political with some 11th rate junior minister.
But if you want a giggle I suggest you go for a quick Chicken Tikka Masala in The Cinnamon Club in Westminster. Pride of place on the wall is a picture of Prezza "with his wife" taken in the Restaurant. His wife on this occasion is clearly Ms Winterton.
