Fear Not: Prescott's in Charge

I've only just switched my TV on this morning and learnt of the (apparently) foiled terrorist attack. According to BBC News 24 a few minutes ago, 10 Downing Street has
assured us that the Deputy Prime Minister is is charge. I'm sure that will provide great reassurance to my esteemed readers. Just thought I ought to share that with you, as you quake in your cellars.

  1. Someone phoned Radio 5 Live this morning and actually said that "the attitude of newspapers like the Daily Mail and Littlejohn may be provoking young Muslims into action"

Perhaps Big John will now end Islamic immigration.

    Y're right

  2. At a time like this, all you can do is make another cheap jibe about Presscott.

    Bad judgement, pal.

  3. Robert,

What are you talking about? There is never a bad time to make a joke about Prescott. It is the British way to laugh in the face of an enemy, chortle at terrorists etc.

I wonder how long the likes of Fisk will take to tell us that the reason these young chaps from the Midlands want to blow planes out of the sky is because we are doing nothing in Lebanon/involved in Iraq/had something to do with the Crusades.

Transplanting responsibility is morally wrong. It doesn't matter whatever sordid reason you can think to justify terror, you are a criminal of the highest order and should be hit with the fullest measures the law can hit you with.

  4. Robert,

    at a time like what?

Just because people can't take their Ipods onto airplanes, doesn't meant that we should lose our sense of humour

Never a better time for it, I'd have thought

  5. Al-Qaeda will be shitting themselves at the prospect, I'd have thought. I expect they'll be a powerful lobby within the terrorist organisation prepared to pack up and call it a day, faced with the awesome presence of JP calling the shots for the oppo.

    Is that Allisistair?
If so could you answer this question-
Why has your govermnent decided to remove or undermine almost all ancient English freedoms in order to protect just one:
Continued large-scale Islamic Immigration into the UK?

  7. The news channels tell us that COBRA (the government crisis management committee) met in Downing Street all night, which is unprecedented. The Deputy Prime Minister, an overweight diabetic apart from anything else, chairs COBRA... all night.

Of course this is a very serious situation, which is all the more reason for questioning the judgement of any PM who would leave a proven clown and buffoon like Prescott "in charge".

Prescott is rightly a laughing-stock, but this is beyond a laughing matter.

Is Blair on his way home yet? And if not, why not?

What are you on about? Are the 500,000 Poles coming here Muslim? I think not. We imported the Muslims 50 years ago because of a labour shortage. The terrorists are born and bred here. We cannot get rid of them by lies about mass Muslim immigration.

1.an estimated 80,000/year come to the UK via marriage.
2.A significant proportion of the 200,000 - to 300,000 working visas "for certain professions" are Muslim.
3.All Somalians, some Nigerian and many other asylum seekers are Muslim.

So they all arrived 50 years ago did they? - in 1956?
Good lord your well informed - you must either live in the west country or get chauffeured every where.

actually of the 8 last year in July, only half were born here.
Please try and stick to the facts not the party line.
When it comes to national security, we don't need any more Edward Hallett Carrs - thanks.

  14. Robert,

The best way to deal with a terrorist threat is to carry on as normal. If that means making "cheap jibes" at Prescott then so be it. He's not exactly much use for anything else.
