Sacked for Being a Conservative

There are a great many of these publicly appointed bodies who will not accept someone who holds a public political position (including declares an intention to stand as a candidate). It is not clear that anything more sinister has been applied here. Do you have any evidence that high profile members of other parties have been treated differently? If not, your story is without foundation.
I read the article. In fact he wasn't "sacked for being a Conservative", he was thrown off a civil service body because he had been adopted as a party candidate. That would have happened whichever party he had been a candidate for.
I don't know the employment rules for these various Quangos, but the above commenters may be correct in their analysis.
As Anon says, the big issue would be if there were other members of, say, Labour, Plaid Cymru or the Lib Dems in similar circumstances yet who are still employed.
