Help Andrew Stephenson Win

Between now and the General Election I will be highlighting a whole series of Conservative candidates who I believe deserve our financial support. They will generally be in marginal seats with limited fundraising capacity. After I highlighted the candidacy of Tom Biggs, the Conservative opponent of David Wright MP, you all donated more than £2,000 through MyConservatives.com, for which I am sure he is very grateful.

Andrew Stephenson is one of the Conservatives' youngest candidates. He is looking to oust Gordon Prentice, Labour MP for Pendle, who enjoys a majority of just over 2,000. Prentice has complained vociferously about the amount of funding Andrew Stephenson has received from CCHQ, so let's make him splutter a bit more by raising some money for Andrew's campaign from ordinary Conservative supporters.

  1. I thought Ashcroft had all these bases covered?

Rubbish. Prentice has complained vociferously about funding from Ashcroft. Your boss. Declare your interest.

  3. Have you considered asking a wealthy business associate if he'd be prepared to chip in? What's the worst that could happen?

  4. The Lib Dems have Stephenson by the balls in Pendle and are set to come from third to first.

That's why he has come to his good friend Iain Dale to help him raise money...

  6. I doubt three grand is even going to register:

" A CONTROVERSIAL Conservative donor has given cash for the party’s campaign in Pendle, it has been revealed.

The borough’s Labour MP Gordon Prentice has claimed the Tories were ‘trying to buy’ Pendle with Lord Ashcroft pumping in £250,000.

"Conservative candidate for Pendle, Andrew Stephenson, has hit back at the ‘insulting claims’.

But he has revealed that the party was spending ‘£50,000 to £60,000’ a year in the borough — and that Lord Ashcroft was helping to pay for party work in Pendle. "

  8. I see the Labour Trolls are making very little reference to their non-doms and the taxpayers money laundered through the Union Modernisation fund back to Labour. Keep up the good work Ian. I just chucked the guy a tenner along with one of the other candidates the right side of the Pennines :-)

Oh and Golden_balls. I also chucked £20 this week to the Forces Childrens Trust that raises money for the children of fallen servicemen.

You can do both - help your country get rid of the morons that currently resides in government AND help some people who deserve it too.
