More, if I get it.
UPDATE: Irish political journalist Eamonn Mallie has just twittered...
Peter Robinson to live and fight another day. Personal problems need utmost care and attention. That is the message. More to come.UPDATE 4pm: My source tells me to watch the news at 6pm, which means that UTV (ITV) have the story, whatever it may be. BBC and other ob units are sat outside Dundela House (DUP HQ). "Personal problems need utmost care and attention" is the message we're going to hear apparently. There is more to Iris Robinson's recent resignation appaerently.
UPDATE 5.15pm: Politics.ie is reporting that Iris Robinson has been having an affair.
UPDATE 6pm: Iris Robinson has issued a detailed statement. Ity reveals she tried to commit suicide. Peter Robinson's statement is deeply moving. he only discovered his wife's affair when she attempted to kill herself.
'Northern' Irish First Minister, surely?!
ReplyDeleteDon't foist him on us down here in the south!
Who?
ReplyDeleteInteresting. Is Nick Robinson going to follow suit?
ReplyDeleteThose are strong rumours. Interesting developments with the leaders of Labour/SF/DUP, and the election hasn't even started. The end of the week should throw up some more surprises if SF decide to walk away from Stormont over devoloution, and basically at this stage before an election they haven't much to lose.
ReplyDeleteThink it's just the rumour mill going crazy. BBC film crew at his house but no invitation to print media, think the BBC are just there to record something for one of the local political programmes. Pity though, would be glad to see the back of him and his party.

ReplyDeletePersonal problems generally lead to a quick get away.
Eamon Mallie also tweeted that the press conference vaunted for Dundela Ave was actually at the Robinson household.
ReplyDeleteOwen Paterson met him there on Monday, maybe he can shed some light?
There is no mystery to the reference to personal problems. As has been widely reported Mrs Robinson is unfortunate enough to be suffering from depression.

The rumours are now rather JUICY. Will find out very soon if true...
ReplyDeletePolitics.ie is reporting she was having an affair and a journalist found out
ReplyDeletehere
politics.ie are being pretty explicit about the cause of Iris's "depression".
ReplyDeleteAnd how's that going to bring about the Gordondämmerung?
ReplyDeleteImagine if it was a lesbian affair!!
ReplyDeleteIris Robinson (Wife of Peter) had an affair and tried to kill herself - UTV
ReplyDeleteSTONE THE FORNICATOR !!!!
ReplyDeleteWith help, she can be turned around...
ReplyDeleteMy word.
ReplyDeleteSomeone who says sorry with sincerity.
We need more people like that. Do we have any politicians who could do so?
God Bless you please, Mrs Robinson, Jesus loves you more than you will know, ho,ho,ho.
