Lazy Labour MPs Vote for Longer Holiday

Yesterday evening MPs voted themselves a 12 day break in February - from 10th to the 22nd. Well, I say MPs voted - actually only Labour MPs did. Tories and LibDems voted against. Not a single Labour MP went into the No lobby.

Go figure.

If you want to see how your own MP voted, click HERE.

* The February hald term break is normally one week long.

  3. Suits me - that's 12 days they can't bugger up the country some more. 12 days less to implement their counterproductive and partisan measures announced in the Queen's Speech.

In fact, I wish they had voted themselves a far longer holiday - preferably permanent!

  4. Labour MPs creaming as much off the Taxpayer before they get the chop - If it is not Money it is Holiday!

Does it give them an edge for a March election? An extra week of campaigning?

If that is what it is for Gordon will propbably bottle it again! lol

  5. Does it really matter? In a little while plenty of Labour MPs will be able to have a 365-day holiday.

  6. Presumably the other 200 odd members able to vote were already taking their hols?

  7. 'sic temper' nope its 12 more days they cannot hold the govt to account. The buggering up continues without parliaments help.

Indeed I am sure the labour party have fed the lazy expenses culture for the last 12 years in order to keep parliament somnolent.

  8. My labour MP didn't even bother to vote; probably too busy claiming travel expenses

  9. What a shame you've fallen for this one, Iain. It's a tradition that the opposition pretends to oppose government proposals for the recess dates. The only MP who genuinely opposed the recess dates was probably Nick Clegg, whose lip quivers at the thought of MPs spending time in their constituencies instead of knitting new sack cloths to wear.

  13. Why am I not surprised that Lembit Opik voted in favour? More time to touch up young girls!
