Unite Against Fascism Use, er, Fascist Tactics

The Guardian is reporting that the Unite Against Fascism protesters outside the BBC are chanting this charming ditty...

Build a bonfire, build a bonfire, put Nick Griffin on the top, put the Nazis in the middle, and burn the fucking lot."

Is that incitement? asks a commenter in the previous thread. The Police would have every justification for arresting them and charging them with incitement to violence. As Gavin Whenman tweeted just now...

Unite Against Facism by employing facist techniques. Good on you guys!

  1. Yes Iain but the cops would have to develop some balls first...too late for that I fear

  2. Irony and hypocrisy is lost on those "chumps"

I imagine they will be immune to incitement charges the same way militant islam is.

  3. There are some on the left that are all for free speach until somebody says something they do not agree with.

We cannot have the right of free speach without having the right to offend.

  6. Over at Political Betting, they are conducting a poll on whether Nick Griffin should be on QT. The overwhelming opinion is that he should.

Meanwhile, if you want to find Nazis, that is, a mob of people whose sole purpose is to terrorise and intimidate, to disrupt, to shut down freedom of speech, then look no further than the gates of the BBC.

Public opinion won't go away just because of a few unwashed lefties. I am hoping that the next Government are shitting themselves over this. I am hoping they will grow a set of cojones and acknowledge what the issues are.

If not, let's just have a revolution and change the system. Why not? The country is going to be more like Pakistan than England in 50 years time anyway. The default is not an option.

  7. But these are the same types who fly all over the world backpacking, or even to Climate Change forums in Bali or Copenhagen, and then tell the rest of us we mustn't go anywhere near an airport. So I suppose just like good carbon footprint there's also good fascism.

  9. All this seems only to build up the BNP notoriety and will undoubtedly help the party to grow.
The only way for the BBC to give coverage in an impartial way would be to do a documentary on the party and follow it with an in depth interview by Paxman on Griffith.

  10. I was just thinking this such a big coup for the BBC Political Dept.

The ratings for question time are going to go through the roof and follow that with This Week. People are saying Nick Griffin will be happy, id think David Dimbleby and Andrew Neil would not be too far behind Griffin.

  11. Griffin is certainly scum, but these "liberal fascists" should know better than to try to silence someone just because they disagree with him. The best way to take on the BNP is to show their racial theory arguments and opinions for the rubbish that they are through debate not imposition of other opinions.

  12. I really hope that singing nasty songs about the BNP isn't incitement.

Otherwise I'd really be in trouble with 'Racist Loopy Nuts Are We'....and probably executed for 'You Gotta Taunt a Fascist or Two'.

    Oops.

Though it seems to me that making them the object of laughter and scorn with debate and the odd song parody, rather than meeting their hateful tactics with similar aggression, is probably a better option.

    'Britons Are Brutes'.

Cameron and Hague are holocaust deniers.

The Lisbon Treaty will have to be enforced here as we are a dangerous bunch of psycho-primitives.

The BBC is providing a little bit of stage managed street theatre in support.

  14. Strikes me as odd that the BNP story has pushed the Royal Mail strike off the top spot on the news and that one of those most strongly trying to stop the BNP appearance and therefore stop the story is Peter Hain who... used to work for the union holding the Royal Mail strike.

If Peter Hain had succeeded then the CWU's strike action would surely have stayed as the main news article with all the attendant publicity.

  15. And remember, the UAF is a fake charity, funded by Unison and the Home Office. i.e. By us.

We've talked about this before, haven't we?

    Remember their famous quote?

"We don't believe in free speech for fascists".

    Oh dear ...

  16. Well, it's always instructive to turn thing on their head and see how it looks.

So, if you substitute 'Bin Laden' for 'Nick Griffin' and 'Ragheads' for 'Nazi's' the whole lot would have been arrested instantly.

The Guardian would be printing a special edition and left wing commentators would be purple with outrage.

Nothing will happen to this lot; except anyone asking the police to deal with them will be moved on.

  17. Anti-fascists are just as disgusting as fascisits, only more nasty and violent.

I would have more respect for them if they dared to show their faces at extremist gatherings. But they seem to think that only extremist who call for our murder, are deserving of free speech with molestation.

Its a pity Cameron is listed as a supporter of these vile scumbags. Has he never heard that two wrongs don't make a right?

  20. Where were the United Armed Fascists last week when the peaceful and tolerant muslims formed a mob outside the Scottish Parliament South saying if the Police werent here they would have Wilders head on a spike?, why werent the 'UAF' there then? why were they silent then?, why were there no arrests last week?.

The far left are every bit as bad as the far right, it should be noted also that we have had an extremist party in power for almost 13 years, and that the EUSSR is run by the far left.

  21. Iain

On the previous thread you expressed the hope that tonight should be a regular edition of QT without any BNP specific questions.

I'm sure that was the intent, but one can be sure that the first question will be "can the UK support a population of 71 million?"

The release of the ONS report yesterday is no concidence. Someone is looking to provoke strife here; coming at the same time as the Royal Mail dispute is being stoked, I'm wondering what's up.

Have Mandelson and Brown decided that a winter of discontent could actually be in their favour?

  25. Anyone would think that the political establishment and groups like UAF wanted the BNP to do well. They're certainly doing everything in their power to promote the BNP and try to make them seem like major players, after all.

It's crazy. You don't beat a minnow by shouting "SHARK! SHARK!" and trying to catch it with harpoon guns. All you do with that is start to convince others that the minnow IS a shark, after all.

If the main political parties wanted, they could destroy the BNP tomorrow. They just need to start paying attention to the very real fears of people in deprived areas about immigration, jobs and other things that make them turn in despair - or protest! - to the party that seems to be listening. The one party that all the others seem to fear so very much...

The BNP have, in short, been set up as the perfect protest vote.

Yet another example of the utter ineptitude of the political establishment.

And for the record, I have voted for many parties in my life, but never the BNP. I fully intend and expect that that 'never' will remain absolute. True 'British values' - fair play, honour, justice, common sense, etc - are anathema to them, and thus they are anathema to me.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I wonder how many of these UAF members are actually registered to vote and bother voting in elections.

In case any of them read this (assuming members of the UAF can read), lads why don't you either stand as candidates against the BNP yourselves or get out and help candidates standing against the BNP by knocking on doors, delivering leaflets etc. Its far morelikely to have an effect by doing what you are doing, calling the BNP names and throwing eggs at them

I disagree I think the far Left are far worse. Personally I think all the lefties should be ashamed of themselves - Police Officers going about there job were injured today for nothing.

My old man dropped bombs on the nazi party headquarters in Nuremburg in 1944. I can handle a few half bricks going Griffin's way.

It's great to see people standing up and saying that they won't take it.

  32. Don't wait up skynews are showing it in its entirety early!

  33. Just saw clips of tonight´s show on Sky news. I imagine for some viewers it will have looked like bear-baiting. Griffin had nothing to lose from the event and if the clips were an accurate representation then the Lab, Lib and Con speakers appeared like unbearably pious middle class liberal sociology teachers - just the type of people that the BNP core voters and potential voters would not like. To me, it looks like Straw et al played into Griffin´s hands, unfortunately. On charges of being a Nazi, Griffin said that whilst his father had been in the RAF, Jack Straw´s father had been in prison during WW2 for refusing to fight Adolf Hitler. Ouch. That said, Griffin does not look or sound pleasant and he certainly does not have a winning smile.
For all their supposed hatred of the BNP and all it stands for, the UK media and politicians have done a hell of a job in creating publicity for a small and dangerously deranged group of very nasty people. That was my impression anyway.

  35. R56 - of course the release is coincidence. And the firsrt question will not be the one you suggest.

Without the BNP it would be a legitimate question.

But just look at you all - all dancing to the BNP tune, well done BBC.

The lunatics are in charge of the BBC asylum. This whole unedifying exercise is totally unnecessary. The pinprick of the BNP does not warrant it - unless you are the labour party who worry about losing their core vote to them.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Has the BBC just used this whole thing as a way to promote itself, regardless of any possible consequences?

  37. To be fair though, these BNP blimps aren't much different to the Tories of the 19060s/70s, and not at all different to what Catholics in Northern Ireland had to deal with in Unionism.

    ReplyDelete
  38. BBC had to redeem itself by inviting a stream of people onto the news channel to assure us that Griffin done bad. Chris Huhne spoiled it somewhat by making a party political speech on how the LibDems were the only ones opposing the BNP.

Anyone would think this was part of a concerted strategy to scare Labour voters to the polls come the General Election due to threat of the BNP.

I dont think the BNP will do very well at the GE either way but what I would say is a higher turnout of Labour inclined voters could make the difference between a Tory Majority and a Hung Parliament.

"But what Jay said was that the Labour Party always or regularly call anyone who expresses a concern about immigration racist.
