Careful what you wish for.
ReplyDeleteLMAO....love it....how true
ReplyDeleteIs this some sort of sick joke?
ReplyDeleteI reckon Harriet will get it - she's playing a very smart and very visible role in defending the Labour Party.
ReplyDeleteWhen Our Glorious Leader is struck down, Harperson will be the only loyalist left standing.
Today is the last chance. It's all down to the PLP now, and it looks like they've lost their bottle; but if they inflict this unelected dead-in-the-water PM on us for another few months, due to their own self-interest and lack of courage or imagination, they can be sure they will spend the next ten years in the wilderness. Or maybe even watch the folding of the Labour Party for good: and they will truly deserve it. It's tonight or never.
ReplyDeleteHarriet Harman for PM? Yes, please.
ReplyDeleteMad Hattie Harperson for PM - now wouldn't that be good. Out of the frying pan and into the fire.
ReplyDeleteFrank Field wields the knife
ReplyDeleteEr...what if Hattie turned out to be a sort of latterday Margaret Thatcher of the Left?
ReplyDeletePretty unlikely I admit. Squadrons of pigs will probably dip their wings in salute first, as they fly past leaving trails of coloured smoke.
But you never know. How many people would have looked at Macmillan's junior pensions minister, the lady with a voice like a cat sliding down a blackboard*, and said to themselves "She'll be the greatest Prime Minister of the 20th century after Churchill"?
*as it was then
That's right lefties the last thing we want is Harriet Harman as Labour leader.
ReplyDeleteNow we're really scared .....
@Plato: Is it just me or is really hard to figure out from Frank Field's web site which party he stands for ?
ReplyDeleteNews item:
ReplyDeleteDavid Blunkett has been trampled by a cow!*
Rumours that Harriet Harman was involved are much exaggerated......
*yes, this is not a joke, check the BBC if you don't believe me...
Poor Iain
ReplyDeleteOnly Mirtha Tidville caught the joke. Mind you I suppose that is Mirth for short.
Read the excellent article " Gordon Brown is like Monty Python’s parrot... stuffed " by Kavanagh in the Sun.
ReplyDeleteYeah. Right.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't surprise me.
ReplyDeleteThe bunker is calling the shots, threatening the weak and bullying the spineless. Expect nothing from these backbench inept wet-wipes. Let’s face it the Labour Party couldn’t organise a happy ending in a brothel. If they fell into a bucket of tits they’d come out sucking their thumb.
ReplyDeleteGordon Brown will lead the Labour Party into the next election.
From now until then though it’s going to be very, very ugly. This is just the first skirmishes in a civil war which is going to make 1980s Beirut look like two toddlers arguing in a sandpit.
Fasten your seatbelts, go back to your constituencies and prepare for merriment.
A genuine laugh out loud!
ReplyDeleteROFL! That is a complete classic line - and so very true! :D
ReplyDeleteMuch kudos to whoever came up with it!
Victor NW Kent
ReplyDeleteYour right it is.....
I actually did LOL at that one. How true.
ReplyDeleteStill, should be interesting to see who ends up as Labour leader once Obama Beach is forced from office.

ReplyDeletethe original comment comes from HuffingJenkem
Very, very funny.
Too late... They've just had a coup - and MandelFoy is the newly (unelected in any sense) leader...
ReplyDeletegod help us all, but the Prince of Darkness rules. Is it too late to emigrate?
I rather liked Diane Abbott's quote from yesterday: 'Yes', she said, 'Peter Mandelson is supporting Gordon; in the same way that a rope supports a hanged man'.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Plato - Hattie has emerged as the only one with the balls for the job.
ReplyDeleteWhats the position of Mandleson now? The papers keep saying he is the de facto Deputy leader of Labour now because of the changes last Friday. That being so what happens if Gordon suddenly resigns? Would that make Mandy the caretaker leader adn therefore PM?
ReplyDeleteI gather Gordon Brown is getting rather nervous at tonight's meeting with Labour MPs. A number have already murmured their excuses and left the room.
ReplyDeleteStrangely, they all seem to have left their briefcases under the table.
God help us all. Mandatory handbags for both genders, and fathers have to stay at home 11 months of the working year on paternity leave.
ReplyDeleteBrown cheered by MPs - must be a choke. Chohn Prescott was their cheerleader but Chaqui Smith was absent.
ReplyDeleteApparently, Guido's been informed that Purnell will step forward if nobody else does. If this is true it could be a runner. He's articulate and media savvy and will likely get quite a bit of support from former blairites. Intriguing
ReplyDeleteIs this the same Harman who said: "We could not have a Prime minister with a more deeper commitment"
ReplyDeleteMore deeper?? Someone fetch the grammar fairy please!
well---CHEERING for PM at PLP
ReplyDeletejust think how loud it would of been if it was 5%
People forget that Hattie saw off all the men for the deputy leader including Peter Hain and Alan Johnson.
ReplyDeleteHattie is popular with the feminist left at the grass roots level in the Labour party. The womens vote got her the DL job.
If the next leader is voted by the whole party, Hattie is your man.
Let me put it this way, there won't be many men in the Cabinet if she gets in.
As expected, the turkeys have opted for another year at the trough, putting their own financial intersts first rather than the interests of the UK .
ReplyDeleteCheering Gulping Guppy Brown, banging desks etc......thrilled that they have more time lining their pockets at our expense before the whole despicable Labour lot are swept away in a year`s time. Shame on them, shame, shame , shame.
Another longest SUICIDE NOTE in the history of British politics.
ReplyDeleteOr is just strange that Kinnock attended the meeting of the PLP with McBroon ?
WV bicswort (sounds like a disease)
Yes Labour MPs don't want to be seperated from the cash cow that is their Westminster seat, but there is also another reason why they won't want to get rid of Gordon. They have a social engeneering project to finish. They have the EU to irretrevably commit us to. They want to cling on as long as they can until they have finished their evil work. And then, it might be too late for us to do anything about it.
ReplyDeleteThis election shows they have no mandate, and yet they won't respond to our democratic voice because they hate us for the maleable proletariat they think we are.
i think Harriet Harman is a pretty cool guy. eh hates men and doesnt afraid of anything.
ReplyDeleteI've always assumed that the toxic Horrible Harperson would take over the Labour leadership post GE defeat; trying to pick up the pieces of the shattered party. In my mind she'd advocate any number of mind numbingly crazy policies that would make them as unelectable as they were under Michael Foot.
ReplyDeleteAt first I wondered what the Guardian commenter's drug of choice was - then I had another look at the make up of the final edition of Peter Mandelson's new Cabinet and thought, "With that dazzling array of talent, she could very well end up as Leader of the New Labour Project".
ReplyDeleteI put this comment up about hazel blears in the guardian last month someones just copied my joke
