Accessing Iain Dale's Diary on Your Mobile

Thanks to Dizzy, I now have a new way for you to access this blog on your mobile phone. I know some people have trouble at present.

If you have an iPhone or a Blackberry use this address

http://iaindale.mofuse.mobi

Or this one will work on any phone (or so I am told!)

Cool, eh? Let me know what you think if you use it.

  1. Apart from the flash content, your site seems to work just fine on the iPhone already. :)

  2. Your blog works on the iphone, but the mobi one does load a lot quicker.

  3. Or instead just use Google Reader to aggregate multiple feeds, which can then be read in a browser, on your phone or almost any other internet connected device.

Why complicate the matter when a simple solution is already available!

  4. After your post about things you hate, are you pandering to people who use an Apple computer product? (Although you appear to be an iPod addict)

  5. Cool, loads up nice and fast (BB Storm). Mind you I have been using RSS (via Google Reader) to read your site. RSS also has the advantage of consolidating several blogs so I can zip through my reading list fast.

Maybe I have missed it so far, but none of these methods easily allow for posting comments.

  6. There is a great free app on the iphone/ipod touch called Free RSS that I use to subscribe to the blog. It is really good and can be read offline.

  7. As one who has complained about your site not loading on my mobile in the past, I applaud this development.

You seem to have removed some of the vast amount of data you had down the right hand side of your blog. Even though I have a powerful laptop, sometimes when I previously loaded your page, my screen would stall trying to cope with the huge amount of add-ons you have on your page.

I know it's all going towards your next Audi but if you could limit the amount of adverts, it would be nice.

BTW, the videos were particularly annoying!

How on earth is using Google Reader to read multiple RSS feeds less complicated than a single link to one RSS feed?

Dont get me wrong, I use a reader for some stuff - mostly tech to be honest - but it more co,mplex and annoying than going to a single web address.

  10. It works very quickly, Iain, although like other readers I use Google Reader (Mobile Version) to read yours and many other blogs.

  13. Use a Nokia N95 8GB, wonderful apart from some of the buttons (unimportant ones) have died.

I've uploaded Question Time to YouTube, most of it. I tried to avoid too much of Flint but what can you do: Question Time – Euro Elections & MP’s Expenses.

  15. .mobi works on Palm too, and you need to go to html version to read comments

  16. It's OK but it doesn't render all images on my Blackberry Curve machine, whereas the usual browser does. However it is certainly faster.

Google Reader formats itself for mobiles, so many of us have been accessing blogs that were not per se formatted for mobiles through Google Reader, but the mofuse idea is good too.

  18. As the mobi link you provided provides adverts. i'll stick with the google reader thanks.

  19. Thank you, your site has so many scripts on and images in it it takes an age to load anyway, not only on a phone. Only dissapointment is you have chosen a .mobi extension when most other use an address such as http://m.iaindale.com...

  20. Works perfectly on my BlackBerry Bold. I linked through to the full page to make a comment. I see I can also finally see Guido's blog feed easily using http://guidofawkes.mofuse.mobi/?sm=1
