These blogs were voted for by the readers of more than 60 UK political blogs and the readers of TOTAL POLITICS Magazine. Each person voted for their top ten blogs. Their favourite was awarded ten points, their second favourite nine points and so on down to one point. 1,142 people cast a vote.
The full results will be published in the Guide to Political Blogging in the UK 2008-9 which is published on 5 September and will be available at all the party conferences. You can now also pre-order it via the Total Politics website for £12 inc p&p. You will receive it in mid September.
Fairly common knowledge that plaid supporters have been heavily lobbied to respond.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pity that they don't blog in Welsh.
ReplyDeleteThat'd save me the trouble of attempting them.
Iain,
ReplyDeleteHaven't you included 'Miserable Old Fart' under non-aligned blogs too?
Mark, yes, so what? It is Welsh and it is Non Aligned. Not sure what your point is.
ReplyDeleteBeing included on this list has spurred me to blog for the first time since April.
ReplyDeleteNice job unsworth...
ReplyDeleteSod the Welsh eh! And the Scots! The Irish! The Frogs! The Wops? The Krauts! And all the foreigners... (I wont use the type of language that you probably use to categorise various other groups of unfortunates as Iain wont let it through...)
I don't know about you but it certainly makes me proud to be British.
Strange that the two BBC bloggers appear to have stopped bothering. Are they on strike?

ReplyDeleteCare to define 'British'?
That currency has been somewhat debased since Brown started using the term. It used to have some intrinsic value, but no longer.
As to what I 'probably' use - don't make assumptions.
Oh, and while we're at it, do you have a name? Jones or Williams, perhaps? They all look the same to me.
I think the link for David Jones is incorrect, it seems to be a blog about aquatic creatures...this one seems a bit more likely (if less amusing): http://davidjonesclwydwest.blogspot.com/

ReplyDeleteOooh Unsworth! What a wag! Fearlessly hacking your way through all that PC crap. I like your style big boy! Rule Britannia!
oooh we are so happy to have so many blogs....
ReplyDeleteBeing no 40 on a list of Welsh bloggers is quite a thing. To receive such an accolade is a bit like being singled out as the 40th most pro-democracy member of the Chinese politburo or the 40th most attractive check-out girl in the Croydon branch of Tesco! Respect.

ReplyDeleteHaha consider who is number 40 that's probably the most accurate thing ever written.
I've been looking for a round up like this for a while now...
ReplyDeleteYep wonder who were lobbying and who were on a three line whip.
ReplyDeleteSome really good blogs didnt make it and boy some not so good ones did
Dear Iain,
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised you included me in your list, after all, you did say this about my blog:
"Jesus, what a prat you are making of yourself... Do try harder, then you might have a blog worth reading."
Yn gywir,
Welsh Ramblings
The people have spoken!

ReplyDeleteIain, Haven't you included 'Miserable Old Fart' under non-aligned blogs too?
I think that the point that Mark is making is that you have awarded me 10th in the non aligned award, but colored me Plaid Green in this award!
I am confused about positioning!
My understanding of the system was that people just voted for ten blogs - they didn't vote for categories.
So if Cambria Politico had 100 votes and Miserable Old Fart had 99 votes, he would be higher than me in all categories:
Bloggers with big ears,
Good looking Bloggers,
Drunken Bloggers
Welsh Bloggers
Non-aligned bloggers ....... etc
So how come Cambria is above me in the non aligned vote, but below me in the Welsh vote?
I have looked into this, and apparently you both got the same number of points. In theory you should both have had the same position but my system doesn't sort like that. I guess one time it was sorted alphabetically and the next it wasn't.
ReplyDeleteApologies for the confusion!
Hi Iain,
ReplyDeleteI only started blogging in March this year so 38th in the top 40 is good going.
Certainly intend to carry on blogging for many years to come.
Cheers.
Gwilym
Llais Gwynedd,Blaenau Ffestiniog
Bethan Jenkins above Betsan Powys!
ReplyDeleteWhat????
In fact, Bethan Jenkins at all!!!!
Really memorable and unforgettable moments are captured in this blog.
