Ever wondered what the inside of a Presidential campaign looks like? Click
HERE to see a CBS video of the Barack Obama campaign HQ courtesy of the
Total Politics Campaign Blog. Incidentally, I am very excited to be attending the Republican National Convention at the beginning of September.
Mmmm... Katie Couric ! Ding-dong !
ReplyDeleteShe may not be very incisive, but the flirty puppy-dog eyes routine would probably work better at getting guys to fess up the truth than any amount of Paxo interrogation..
The definitive guide to the US elections...
ReplyDeleteOh Iain, please get over the lovefest for Barack Obama. Simply put, he is a tax and spender liberal, and his PR spin team accuses most of hte opposition of being racist.
ReplyDeleteBarack Obama's Director of Speechwriting. Now that's a job title that makes me jealous.
ReplyDeleteIain, I really think you are going tio the wrong convention. the Democrat event will be a firecracker - both because of the candidate as a catalyst for change and seeing history in teh making, but also because of the 'Hillary factor'. Much better than a borng McCain convention where the most interesting event will be the selection of his running mate - almost certainly the 2012 Republican presidential candidate and with a good chance of inheriting the job (death, retirement, ill health) before then.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised a modern conservative of your persuasion will be associating with a party that so often runs on homophobic campaigns.
ReplyDeleteToo bad they didn't show his primaries office in Houston, TX; Che Guevara posters and Cuban flag on the wall.
ReplyDeleteIain, why would you want to go to the WRONG convention?! Oh dearrrrrr.
ReplyDeleteI think you'll find the Democratic convention far more exciting. It's the right place to be, at the right time, with the right man.
Go Obama!
Iain...Is it just me or is anyone else having difficulty opening the Three Line Whip Blog? I've been trying for weeks.Cheers, Martin
ReplyDeleteWho is the Republican candidate then ? I have quite lost track since Reagan
ReplyDeleteWell i think Obama is the best man for the job and i think he should become president.

Iain still waiting for you to start your campaign (crusade) to have the, 'Unionist' removed from the name of your beloved party. We should be going to the barricades on this.

ReplyDeleteJust what has Obama actually *DONE* to qualify him for President ? Speeches don't count.
His legislative record is notable for its sparseness, its timidity (all those "present" votes in the state senate to avoid conflicts and future problems) and for its lack of bipartisanship. Combine that with his positions that put him as the most left wing (by US standards) member of the US senate and I fail to see anything attractive in him at all.
We won't even mention his dubious friends and associates (which he's now dropped like hot potatoes of course).
I'll bet you $$ the DNC is wishing Hillary was the presumptive nominee.
Six minutes on Obama, and not a single policy mentioned. You do wonder what it's all *for*? It can't just be one big ego trip, can it?
ReplyDeleteObama has the big three network anchors with him (ABC/CBS/NBC), no bias there then.
ReplyDeletePick your T-shirt here.
I am very excited to be attending the Republican National Convention at the beginning of September.
ReplyDeleteOh Really?
(Yes I was bored... so what? ;) )
Sorry I won't be seeing you in Denver, Iain.
ReplyDeleteI suspect both will be great fun, but I wouldn't swap with you - far more bloggers coming to Colorado than Minnesota!
Have a great time...
To Yak40 who asks:
ReplyDelete"What has Obama done to qualify to be President of the USA?"
Well, I'm quite sure that everything Barack Obama has done in his life is far more meaningful and helpful than anything George Bush has ever done.
Obama is an intelligent, insightful and inspiring politician. He obviously has 'it' - the special 'it' factor that is impossible to define. Obama is a natural leader.
Obama will heal the wounds inflicted on the world by George Bush, the Republicans and the neo-conservatives.
'The American Dream' still exists and Obama reminds us why...
Obama is about the future. McCain is about the past. Nuff said.
