Following yesterday's howlers in The Observer (see below) The Independent goes one better this morning. On page 4 they ask a group of politicos what Gordon Brown's strategy should be. One of those giving their views is ex Number Ten hack Matthew Taylor. The Indy has printed a picture of of the LibDem MP of the same name. Roger Alton will not be pleased on his first day as editor.
The Independent had an article on Saturday about house prices, and let through a long puff-quote from an estate agent saying people shouldn't wait forprices to fall, but buy now, as even if you save £4000 buying you'd pay £4000 in rent.
ReplyDeleteI guess they're assuming people are buying with no mortgage, and pay no interest, but keep that spare cash in a current account in the meantime earning no interest?

ReplyDeleteI wrote to you Friday about Gordon Brown using the No 10 website to promote the Labour Party and linking directly to Labours local election website calling for your vote.
I did not get a response, in fact still haven't. So I passed the information on elsewhere.
Shane Greer is now carrying the story.

Clearly it is up to you as to what you consider to be important for your blog, but I have to question how many people turn to this blog to read about sex surveys and "sub watch" spelling mistakes?

An above-the-fold front page picture caption on the first edition of the Guardian, on the day Tony Blair stepped down, called him "Tony Brown".
ReplyDeleteThis must be the best political newspaper howler of modern times.
The BBC website sadly seems to be full of mistakes these days
