Top Ten Things we Should have a Referendum On

IAIN DALE IS AWAY - SHANE GREER IS STANDING IN

Our Top Ten List on Vox Politix tonight will be the TOP TEN THINGS WE SHOULD HAVE A REFERENDUM ON. Your suggestions please...

14 comments:

  1. Are referendums a waste of time, effort and money?

    Is the sky nice?

Do we elect MPs to make decisions on our behalf?

Isn't it only beastly foreigners who use referendums

When was the last time a Conservative government called a referendum?

    Do you hate the French?

Have you stopped beating your wife?

    Are Tuesdays better than Thursdays?

    Is David Cameron a toff?

Is snow more fun than camping?

Is there no end to this?

Are people who comment on blogs daft?

  2. Whether Iain Dale should ever be allowed to go on holiday again. No offence, Shane.

  3. No brainer: "our membership of the European Union"

With 70% of our laws now being made in Brussels and the continuing hollowing-out of our institutions, isn't about time we were allowed a say in the matter?

  5. Aren't most questions worth asking too complex to be answered simply by 'yes' or 'no'?

Will Iain Dale ever learn the meaning of 'holiday'?

Do people who use the plural form 'referenda' to sound educated or posh succeed only in demonstrating that they don't know what a gerund is?

Was Mrs Thatcher right to dismiss referenda (see above) as an unsatisfactory way of reaching decisions?

Is David Cameron a busted flush?

Does the secret to getting the answer you want in a referendum or opinion survey lie (in any sense) in the way you phrase the question?

Has being "green" ceased to be trendy?

Are the Conservatives trying to become an imitation New Labour Party?

Did you know that Labour has hired Saatchi and Saatchi?

Have you answered enough questions yet?

  9. How about a referendum on restoration of liberties and/or a British constitution to limit the scope of parliament and the executive, voted on by the sovereign people of Britain.

  10. Should Dale take more frequent, and longer, holidays?

Perhaps to Rwanda, where he seemed to lose his mojo.
