Election Battlegrounds

Many of you will have bought the latest edition of the ALMANAC OF BRITISH POLITICS. Over the next few months I will be doing a series of interviews with the co-editor of the Almanac, Robert Waller for 18 Doughty Street. Each 30 minute programme will analyse a region of the country and its marginal seats. To view the first two programmes click on the links below.

South West
North West

These really are programmes which ought to have a POLITICAL GEEKS ONLY warning on them! We'll be recording a further two programmes in a couple of weeks.

Believe me SSI the an audio only link will not help you. Its 15 mins plus on tories making wishful theories about the next ecletion. Other than that upgrade your PC to receive the video

  6. How irritating that "jim" and this parvenu "sea shanty irish" (I've been trying to work out the anagram for days) have invaded your site Iain.

No matter. I think I must have become a politcal geek because I find Robert Waller is a fascinating man. OK, he obviously loves statistics (and is a great cricket lover which has its own band of geeks) but he has a very engaging style and so much detailed knowledge at his finger tips that make his explanations of the likely outcomes of a future general election very compelling viewing.

He certainly is not partisan in his presentation of the facts as he sees them and (as Iain implies) is not necessarily a Conservative supporter. I look forward to the next set of programmes. Fascinating stuff!
