You now only have a matter of hours to get your Top 20 blogs to me (ranked 1-20) before the deadline of midnight tomorrow. A quick update on what's happened so far...
* More than 500 blogs have been nominated.
* 158 of them are on the right, 131 on the left, 48 LibDem
* Of the Top 100, 38 are Conservative blogs, 15 Labour, 8 LibDems and 4 for the smaller parties
* I have identified 1100 politcially related blogs for the directory
* More than 50 bloggers will be featured in a Who's Who in politcial blogging section.
* The book goes to the printers on 22 August and will be published in mid September
So, if you haven't already done so, email me at iain AT iaindale.com with your Top 20 (or Top 10 if you can't get to 20!) blogs, ranked from 1-20. I can't accept emails votes with just one blog on them!
Hi Iain,
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it's too late, but personally I would be very interested in also seeing some traffic figures for blogs in the book.
I don't know if that's something you have considered or not.
Best wishes,
G
Iain, when are you going to apologise for the revolting smear campaign conducted on this site during the cash for honours affair.
ReplyDeleteAre you an honourable man?
Latest poll give Labour a 146 seat majority.
ReplyDeleteYou must get nostalgic for that Rwandan toilet!
Come on Iain - switch off the anonymous posts - you know you want to.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cowardly act, Iain. You've deleted a number of (non-abusive) posts from last night, purely because they were critical of you.
ReplyDeleteSo much for freedom of speech!
Piss off you twat.
ReplyDeleteI saw Redwood this moring saying something along the lines of:
ReplyDelete"Isn't it strange that the more pension regulations there are, the worse state pensions are in"
A nation replies:
"WHAT THE CHRIST...!!!!"
What self-respecting country is going to voluntarily appoint Osborne their Chancellor?
ReplyDeleteIain, will you be at the party conferences selling these to us hacks?
ReplyDeleteIain, do everyone a favour and please consider turning off the anonymous comments. The standard of comments was much higher last week.
ReplyDeleteAfraid I have to second Tony here. Anons can be good at times but not this particular variety.
ReplyDeleteHi Iain
ReplyDeleteI’ve linked to your blog on http://gtrmancfabians.blogspot.com/
I’d be really grateful if you could return the favour.
As much as I disagree with Iain and the contents of his blog, it would be nice if his critics had the guts not to hide behind anonymity.
ReplyDeleteTony and Graf von usw:
ReplyDeleteOK, this thread has been infected by strange creepy creatures. The only other serious attack was on one earlier thread. At the moment two other threads are being commented on in a fairly rational way, including one poster who has excellent reasons for being anonymous.
Iain pent up the bats in the belfry by his earlier decision to ban anonymous posts when he was away. Now they are out, and have flocked instinctively to the nearest sticky surface: both the attacked threads were about blogging.
It isn't too much to hope that most of them will go away.
Iain, could you do us a favour and differentiate between Libertarian and Left/Right?
ReplyDeleteayethengkyor.
I think most of the anonymous posts came from one person, who has also infested Guido's site.
ReplyDeleteMy view is that with anonymous comments turned off this blog is at the mercy of Tory fanboys who spend all day pompously agreeing with each other at great length.
I do not think Guido's site suffers from allowing both anonymity and swearing.
It makes it more entertaining.
at the mercy of Tory fanboys
ReplyDeleteDon't know if you noticed, but Iain is a Tory and writes on politics. You might expect a certain number of Tories who are Tory to come on to a Tory site.
I have had my top 20 selection returned after several attempts.
ReplyDeleteWould you have a conventional e-mail address we could use?
Iain, when are you going to apologise for the revolting smear campaign conducted on this site during the cash for honours affair.
ReplyDeleteYes Iain, when are you going to apologise for commenting on the news and having an opinion? Frankly it's outrageous!
David, it is a conventional email address! Just replace the AT with @. I typed it like that to prevent spam email.
ReplyDeleteIs this a Tory site?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous; the only revolting smear is the stain on our democracy caused by the whole affair. Why should Iain apologise for voicing his opinion and in doing so, saying what many other people also think?
ReplyDeleteThe sad state of politics in this country now means that in spite of no action being taken against the Labour Party, there are a huge number of people who quite simply don't believe that they did not do anything wrong. Me included. When you have a group of people running this country who so obviously hate those they are supposed to represent you end up with rather a sad state of affairs.
Surely when you open a blog, regardless of its political bias, you should expect and even welcome opposing points of view. If you can't take, p**s taking, certainly if you want to be a politician, then 'If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen'
ReplyDeleteThe Tories also took secret loans during the 2005 campaign. I haven't heard much criticism of that on this site.
ReplyDeleteIron Hoof:-
ReplyDelete- "with anonymous comments turned off this blog is at the mercy of Tory fanboys who spend all day pompously agreeing with each other at great length"
for goodness sake, get off your arse and read the survey - 43% of the people who took the survey, DONT VOTE CONSERVATIVE (I am one of them) and if you think the rest are puppy dogs waiting to roll over you are a dope.
It makes you wonder doesn't it?
Congratulations Herr Dale on winning yet another blogging award.

Tartan Hero says that he is doing a Scottish chapter for the book.
ReplyDeleteIs there to be a Welsh chapter too?
If there is, can you let me know who's writing it, so that I can bung a few quid in the right direction?
