Tonight on Live at Nine on 18 Doughty Street I will be interviewing Edwina Currie about her life in politics. If you have any questions (and please don't abuse my invitation!) for her, please leave them in the comments and I will do my best to get through them.On Vox Politix at 10pm I'll be joined by left of centre broadcaster and journalist Boni Sones, teacher Catriona Mackenzie and Tory MP Greg Hands.

ReplyDeleteI hope no floating voters see it. I can't think of a politician whose appearance would do more to remind people why they stopped voting tory. Even Neil Hamilton is held in a bit of affection now (rightly, but that's a different story.

ReplyDeleteEdwina Currie had a letter in the Telegraph in which she mentioned that support for Grammars was really the middleclasses wanting the 80% excluded to help pay for a free public school education , perhaps you would ask her to eleborate on that point which ( in my view ) is a good one.

ReplyDeleteI consider that Edwina abandoned the Tories at some point during the 1990s - her subsequent criticisms was unhelpful and seemed to be self-serving.
ReplyDeleteWhat does she think of former Birmingham Labour councillor Hugh McCallion's vitriolic and mysogynistic articles about her? Therein are allegations that she punched a fellow councillor. Assuming that she stands by her denial what is the nearest that she has come to violence during her political career?
Iain I like Edwina Currie as a good sort poltically and a very sound bird as well , I hope you are going to ask some expansive questions about her views on the issues that concern us all

Does she see him as betraying the Conservative heritage or , as Kieron O`Hara argues , rescuing the Conservative Party from the grip of doctrinaire libertarians ..or whatever.
4 How does she view the Growth of the state and the calls for relief from ever increasing taxation .
Boring I know but I would like to hear what she thinks rather than just ask a few specific questions
