Never let it be said that blogs are the only ones to pass on rumour and gossip. Andrew Neil has just said on the
Daily Politics that Greg Dyke is going to be the Conservatives' London mayoral candidate. An interesting thought, but only one problem. He ain't a Conservative.
"...ain't..." - what kind of word is "ain't"?
ReplyDeleteSort it out Iain, there's a good chap.
I mis-read that and saw Greg Hands - now he would be an excellent choice!
ReplyDeleteIs John Bird a Tory? Mike Read? several of the others? For more than a few short weeks? Obviously the revolutionary Bird has turned the gig down. Bring back Lady Porter or Lord Archer ... these are the Tories the people of London want to see on the Ballot.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting thought, but only one problem. He ain't a Conservative.
ReplyDeleteIs that really such a problem these days?
He's a Lib Dem!
ReplyDeleteNeither's David Cameron.
ReplyDeleteWhy should it matter if he is, or ain't a Tory. Politicans do and say anything to get elected, so why should be care if they carry a political party membership card.
ReplyDeleteand the National Union of Journalists have decided to boycott Israeli goods. Don't they have a branch in the "impartial" BBC.....?
ReplyDeleteWhy on earth does anyone take Andrew Neil seriously any more? The latest story journalists are chasing is that the Lib Dems and Tories are tomorrow to announce Dyke as their joint mayoral candidate.
ReplyDeleteIf that’s true, remember you read it here first!
Iain you would know has the Conservative Party actually abandoned hope of winning in London. I don`t know what the figures look like but it has occurred to me that the Conservative Brand alone is a no hoper
ReplyDeleteBTW Do you delete my abuse of Nic Boles ?
I think Simon Hughes should be the LibDems' choice again. After all with his renowned honesty he could easily win on a "straight choice" ticket.
ReplyDeleteWhat's that? Nothing on the tory tax dodger who happens to be a peer after his history of contributions to the tories?
