Tony Blair Questioned a Second Time
Tony Blair was questioned for a second time last Friday. On Monday Lord Levy was re-arrested. Can the two be linked per chance? Adam Boulton is fulominating on Sky News about the PM's Official Spokesman lying to journalists yesterday when he denied there had been a second interview. The Police had requested a news blackout but Boulton says bthat did not give him the right to lie to journalists.
Journalists lie to politicians far more often than politicians lie to journalists.
ReplyDeleteIf the PM through his OS can't even answer basic questions such as "has Mr Blair been questioned again" without lying through his teeth, we can only assume that he has been telling the police lies too.

ReplyDeleteThis is clearly bad for the Prime Minister. It shows the police are toward the end of their investigation. At the begining of the week, Iain, you said thast the Prime Minister might just resign this week. May I suggest you look back at that, as I think there could be another statement or two later on today OR on friday.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Isn't it wierd that the Prime Minister was arrested on Friday, yet the press release was today. Today also happen to be the day that J-J-Jack S-S-Straw was talking to the cabinet on reform of the house of Lords? Are the met secretly in talks with the SNP or something?

Given that he has lied to the people of Britain about WMD, dressed up a dodgy dossier - his whole administration is based on a Tory lie - his spokesman lying to Sky News (themselves professional liars)is hardly big news.

Hmmm...the fact that Bliar did not correct the inaccurate statements by his Official Spokesman is in itself amazingly dodgy. Of course, it is not a fib, but neither is it in the spirit of 'the truth, whole truth, and nothing but the truth'.
ReplyDeleteI bet the lobby as a whole isn't very impressed, which is not suprising. I really don't see how the PMOS couldn't have known, and if the Lobby has been deliberately misled, Downing Street are really going to cop it. Ironically, it's their secrecy which is more damaging than the initial investigation itself.

ReplyDeleteLike the Major government, where sleaze became associated with ministers, the same applies to Tony Blair and his government. We must count the days before Tony calls the removal men in and leaves Downing Street. This is the End for Blair.

Not at all. This corrupt collapse is associated with the entire leadership of the Labour Party and, in its association with the funding of the 2005 election, with the whole of the Labour Party in the country as well.
This is not brown envelopes of fivers for a placed parliamentary question. This is over £14 million pounds used and directed in its use by Gordon Brown, to win the last general election.
Not to speak of a 'charitable' institution, now under investigation, with which Brown has the closest of links and which uses 11 Downing Street for its closed-to-the-public jamborees, the last only days ago.
This is a supine Labour Party unwilling to call itself to book in the House of Commons or in a specially called Party Conference.
This is the Labour Party unfit to govern - not just a few bad apples.
