My Loins Are Now Ungirded
Well, it seems to have worked. The Blog has now been migrated onto the new Blogger platform. The pictures are still here. Comments are still here and most important, the Archives are still here.
His Grace metamorphosed this week, and lost all the avatars from his comment threads.
They have now miraculously returned.
He is now plagued by 'insecure items', and these are the avatars. If anyone finds a way of ridding us of this 'insecure' window, he shall be immeasurably blessed.
I get the notice, too. What is the difference between the secure and non-secure items as everything looks the same as before. It isn't showing any more, or any less, information. What insecure items is it showing?
EXCEPT, Iain, it is all coming up in Spanish! This is already driving me crazy over at The Croydonian's and now it's here, too. First our fishing grounds; now our blogs.
I never see any insecure items with Firefox, however I totally lost patience with Blogger after days on end not being able to log in to my Old Blogger dashboard. Thankfully I got in for half an hour on Friday night and was able to export everything to Wordpress. Now there is a lot of work to do in tidying up the archives.
Perhaps you could be kind enough to "repair" my link in your sidebar Iain? - To this
it's an SSL certificate problem. It seems to be sporadic over Blogger to be honest. I had it the other week. I don't thinkit;s specific to your site, but instead a general problem with one cert on a cluster of machines.

I hope the Conservatives manage to do the same on larger terms, by the time of the next election. Good electorate driven poicies are what's wanted. I always said I'd never vote Tory, but I've been biting back those words since a few months after NL came to power.
For me, at the moment it's the heinous vs the unknown vs the ineffectual. And that's just the main three!
Go on, give me something to beleive in and vote for you blue guys and gals!
This was a mistake, as time will show. Meanwhile the new importer for Wordpress should be ready in a few days, should you decide to switch over.
The insecure warnings are on all Beta Blogger blogs with avatars it seems, when viewed in IE. As far as I know there is no way to turn that warning off.
What wretched bloggers' bar?
ReplyDeleteIt shows "insecure" items even if I click "no".
ReplyDeleteA relief in some ways, I still enjoy reading what Verity has to say.
Yes, I get that too. Any idea anyone how to stop that? I get it on all New Blogger blogs.
ReplyDeleteI don't get that on here
ReplyDeleteI use Firefox if that makes any difference.
Can't see your avatar either! so I will just have to imagine you with more hair.
ReplyDeleteSwitching between insecure and secure mode should be in Internet Tools (mine is IE6, all revisions) but it doesn't work.

I have both Internet Exploder and Firefox running under Windows XP, and can confirm that the insecure items warning occurs only with the first.

Curly's Corner Shop, the blog!

ReplyDeleteWhy is it coming up in Spanish? This is infuriating. There is no way to stop it that I can discover.
ReplyDeleteYou're all speaking Italian here; very impressive.

ReplyDeleteGoe did you get rid of the navbar?
ReplyDeleteWell, it seems to have worked
ReplyDeleteThe hell it has. All your previous commentators are now anonymous, my PC says.
I knew I was right.
Glad you made the blogger transition Iain.

Well done Iain

ReplyDeleteManic's PC thinks this, too. Not that this makes any difference; the majority of Iain's fans/bullies are anonymous anyway.
Iain, do you really think you ought to be wandering around with ungirded loins?
ReplyDeleteYou saucy thing!
Maybe that's 'unguarded lions', though...
"Frigidius...gird up your loins, I can't stand an ungirded loin..."
