Why Tim Montgomerie's Going Red

Well, if imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, Tim Montgomerie should be blushing deep crimson. Having created ConservativeHome, he has now seen very pale imitations created at LabourHome, LibDem Voice and the increasingly obsessed and deluded UKIPHome, but now there's a new kid on the block at LibertarianHome. Created by the Globalisation Institute's Alex Singleton it's a very welcome addition to the blogosphere, and a worthy homage to Mr Montgomerie.

  1. Chad Noble has this very unfortunate Freudian slip in a paean to Nigel Farage posted yesterday (Saturday):

"Since Nigel has been elected BNP leader........."

    Oops!

  2. Iain, Do you know who Louise Bagshawe is ? She was bloody useless this morning on Broadcasting House.

Gwyneth Dunwoody made mincemeat of her. And the way LB tried to hijack the paper review into party political fawning over Cameron was absolutely shocking.

I hope Louise 'I used to be Labour' Bagshawe isn't anywhere near being a parliamentary candidate or an MP. She must be kept away from the levers of power at all costs.

  3. It's a well designed and nicely thought out site.

  4. For the longest time I tried to work out why the virulence of Tory attacks on UKIP till I had my EUreeka moment - it is all about a stricken conscience. UKIP are saying what the tories know they should be saying re EU. Hence the animus towards them...

  5. Bizarre goings on: I clicked on all 4 links to see compare the competition for myself. However, the Lab & LibDem ones wouldn't appear, while the Libertarian and UKIP ones did. Is this a cunning plan, Iain? Or is my computer shielding me from left-wingers?

  6. Um, or you could try the truth Margaret. That wasn't posted by me.

Still, I'm not surprised at another attempt to damage a pro-ukip site, from another Suchorzewski supporter pretending to be a ukipper...

If Nigel's election has achieved one thing already, it has been to flush out the Tory and BNP infiltrators seeking to stop UKIP growing. Sorry about that!

  7. Chad Noblets sole aim is to get lots of traffic for his blog by attacking the Iain, Guido and ConservativeHome.

    This is very sad.

The hot topic on the school gates when waiting to pick my children up from school is not Chad Nobles latest ramblings.

More like the Council Tax, education lack of Doctors and Dentists - Europe and the EU is just not a topic people care about...

  8. UKIPhome is quite simply bonkers!

Having just perused it, of the 10 most recent articles, 9 (!) are anti-cameron/-tory. This is more the anti-tory rantings of the disillusioned Chad Noble, sort of site, than a pro-UKIP site.
I imagine it must be pretty damaging to UKIP's already strained reputation to have such a loose cannon ball tearing around - UKIP central office (if there is such a thing) can't be happy with this, surely?

I would have posted this sort of thing on UKIPhome but no one reads it, so I thought this a much better forum to post on (and I know Chad reads this!).

On, another entirely seperate note, congrats to Iain on being so wildly entertaining and popular - keep it up!

  9. Not quite sure, Iain, what you have done to deserve the opprobium which Chad seems unable to resist heaping upon you! I wonder if he gets at all depressed by the endless succession of links to "Comments(0)" on UKIPHome?

In response to Anonymous (10:00 yesterday), Lousie Bagshawe was selected a couple of months ago as the Conservative PPC for Corby. I didn't hear BH yesterday, but Louise put up a very good performance at our local selection meeting back in July. (Although she does occasionally get sandbagged over on CH for her invariably gushing assessment of selected candidates.)
