Just endured a nightmare journey round the M25 and up the M11 to speak at a dinner in Andrew Lansley's South Cambridgeshire constituency. I thought they'd sell about 5 tickets, but amazingly more than 50 people have forked out twenty quid to hear my words of wisdom about how the Tories should approach the media.
Tomorrow I'm doing a media training session for Conservative women at Conservative Central Office alongside Esther McVey. Should be fun. And then it's on to Upton Park to see West Ham play Sheffield United and a late night newspaper review on News 24. No rest for the virtuous...

Dear Iain
Genuine thanks for coming out (again?) on thursday night. It was a good reminder not to underestimate the power of doing so. Esp with regard to conservative politics. I am perhaps and a gay tory lady?! Perhaps better described as lesbian conservative.
People struggle with the concept. Probably the same way I scratch my head at M to F transsexuals who then hang out at Candy Bar to find a girlfriend.
No matter how many times I come out on my blog, there are always a few laggards who assume the Roy Keane snap really is me.
anyway- thanks again and have a nice weekend yourself.
Slacker!
Trek training, speech writing then off to see some proper football. There'll be no diving, cheating or histrionics at the Angel ground in Tonbridge.
Proper Football
No Michael Stone editorial? Odd that a gun and bomb-toting murderer can attempt a raid on a UK parliamentary building and not elicit an article from the likes of Guido and Iain Dale. They're not alone in this, though. The whole thing's been played down in the mainstream UK media, and there's a paucity of blog activity. Question: and what if it had been a supposedly Islamic extremist, rather than a self-proclaimed Christian?
Funny old world, innit..?
Hope you get paid for some of this.
A busy day ahead then Ian, but we all know the highlight will be watching the Hammers win three points!
Folks, the pain of watching Wales being thrashed by the All Blacks was ameliorated by two things.
Watching Gavin Henson singing the Welsh national anthem, when he knew he would be spending most of the game on the substitutes bench.
And seeing the dismal look on Charlotte Church's face - well it took a little bit of the sting away.
Iain,
I was at the event on Saturday at CCHQ and invited you to join the phenomenon that is facebook-I wonder have you looked into at all?
Thanks for your talk, I really enjoyed it.
