Quotes of the Day

"It is about time those greedy, grasping MPs who, racking up their own salaries, expenses and pensions, never cease whingeing about Prince Charles put a sock in it. In his quiet way he achieves more than the lot of them put together" - Best-selling author Frederick Forsyth.

"There is nothing wrong with having a big bum and wodgy arms - and I would defend to the death anyone's right to be fat" - Victoria Wood.

"John Prescott is a fat git who has done nothing for this country" - TV's Noel Edmonds.

"Football's a difficult business and aren't they prima donnas" - The Queen.

"Dear Dave, Your recruitment efforts for Ukip have been truly exceptional. People are now flocking to join us. Please accept this token of our profound appreciation" - Message on a bouquet sent by Nigel Farage, the Ukip leader, to David Cameron over the view expressed that the Tories should ditch the views of Winston Churchill for those of left-wing writer Polly Toynbee.

  1. You have a right to be fat - but we have a right to call a spade a spade.

Mr Forsyth - Prince Charles and the rest of those inbred twats ought to be shot and thrown down a pit.

"There is nothing wrong with having a big bum and wodgy arms - and I would defend to the death anyone's right to be fat" - Victoria Wood.

Nothing wrong with being totally banal either, is there Victoria?

"John Prescott is a fat git who has done nothing for this country" - TV's Noel Edmonds.

I think he may have a point there ;o)

"Football's a difficult business and aren't they prima donnas" - The Queen.

What would you know you overprivileged sponger?

UKIP probably have a point after this weeks con by the European Court on duty. This corrupt organisation does nothing for the citizens of Europe and it is not what was decided in the 70's referrendum. At the very least we should have a say if we even stay in it now

At least we agree about Yerp and Prescott.

  4. If Noel Edmonds has made this statement in an attempt to shake off his 'chunky jumper / nicey' image, he's picked on the wrong target ... I think that almost all of us agree with this statement ... it's just not controversial enough to be an image-breaker !

Might I take this opportunity to remind the Tories that it was not Polly Toynbee but Winston Churchill who, in 1910, introduced legislative proposals for reducing the scale of imprisonment. It is worth repeating part of his famous speech, as it appears that the Tories are floundering about in a dinghy witout a paddle and no sense of direction.

"The mood and temper of the public in regard to the treatment of crime and criminals is one of the most unfailing tests of the civilization of any country. A calm and dispassionate recognition of the rights of the accused against the State, and even of convicted criminals against the State, a constant heart-searching by all charged with the duty of punishment, a desire and eagerness to rehabilitate in the world of industry all those who have paid their dues in the hard coinage of punishment, tireless efforts towards the discovery of curative and regenerating processes, and an unfaltering faith that there is a treasure, if you can only find it, in the heart of every man - these are the symbols which in treatment of crime and criminals mark and measure the stored-up strength of a nation, and are the sign and proof of the living virture in it".

Take note David Davis. Bow down and proclaim how unworthy you really are.

Memo: To Polly Toynbee, try matching the above and I will follow your leadership qualities.

Those Polly Toynbee worshippers in the Tory Party, stop being complete tossers!

  6. Anyone else see the irony of Noel Edmonds complaining that someone has done "nothing for the country"?

    I don't have a problem with anti-royalists, don't agree, but it's your choice.

However, the thought of a President-for-life Toni and First Lady Imelda Blair gives me the dry heaves.

The democratic option can have terrible consequences.

  8. Prince Charles has raised more money, read more business plans, sat in on more interviews and done, through his Prince's Trust, more to help ambitious young people than any politician in Britain. More young people have gone into business for themselves and become wealth creators thanks to the Prince's Trust than through any of the phony social welfare programmes Tony Blair, Gordon Brown and the other slithy toves in NuLab have jotted down on the back of an envelope.

  9. Too right. What exactly do the Conservatives stand for nowadays? Not Conservative principles, that's for sure.

  10. Noel E's a bit unfair. Prescott does occasionally do something for the country - he leaves it! Sad thing is he comes back.

Always the best way I find Jeremy, convinces people you believe in what you're saying.

I do wish our politicians would just be straight with us.

Instead of soundbite orientated bland statements - they should just speak their minds.

People aren't stupid and know when they aren't telling it like it is.

Its fair to say that I don't find this picture appealling either!

That said, If we were to move to an elected head of state then we'd need an election first.

I'd wager that Blair wouldn't stand an ice cube in hell's chance of getting the job!

As for his wife... couldn't someone just take her our for Sushi?

I'd bet that Noel has paid more in taxes than JP

ps Why does the altenative to Royal Sponger have to be a life long President. I think Ken L would be a good 4 year President.

  14. billy - Prince Charles pays taxes. He has helped thousands of young people realise a business idea, and many of them have managed to make a good fist of the enterprise he helped them start.

Why do you think an alternative to our head of state would be a "life long president"? Have we fallen so low that we would have a "strongman" imposed on us by ... oh, NuLab?

  15. I suspect, despite being older, Prescott could go a few rounds with Edmonds. Sharing Hamer's opinion of Edmonds I would enjoy seeing it.

I suppose if Farage entirley believed what he said he wouldn't have said it but like most sarcasm it is only so much of an exageration.
