What are the Best Scottish Blogs?

I've just added a few blogs to my links section - Blamerbell Briefs, David Jones MP, Lord Lucas, Liberal Democrat Voice, Cobbett Rides Again, Conservatives in Northern Ireland, Nick Robinson Ate My Hamster, Adrian Monck and Scottish Political News.

I've got sections for Irish and Welsh blogs but so far not one for Scottish blogs. So come on all you Scots. Tell me which Scottish blogs I should be linking to!

I have a simple links policy. I only link to blogs which link to me, so if you have a blog and want a reicprocal link, let me know in the Comments Section.

  3. Iain:

My own Freedom and Whisky is already there under "Conservative".

Other Scottish ones I note on your blogroll are Mr Eugenides, Devil's Kitchen, Arthur's Seat and A Place to Stand.

Other ones I know of are (links on my blogroll):

Bill's Comment Page, Bishop Hill, Musings of a Reactionary Snob, New Era Investor, Nine Percent Growth Party, Right for Scotland, The Select Society (was Arthur's Seat), Holyrood Chronicles, A Big Stick and a Small Carrot, Martin Kelly, Scottish Political Bolgs Review, Doctorvee, Shuggy's Blogspot, Will Howells and J Arthur Macnumpty.

  4. I don't think my blog could fit anywhere on your blogroll as I am a BNP supporter.

I suppose mine could go under Anti-Labour.

I can't put yours up until next month though sadly. I have a weird policy which means only a 'blog of the month' can be listed on my blogroll and its filled this month.

I only discovered this blog last week though and it looks like a good blog so will probably be blog of the month unless a better blog comes along

  7. You must be joking? We've got a manly stereotype to retain.

  8. No idea mate, but this one seems a little lower on the list after your abortive plot against Teddy Kennedy; by now, according to your blog, he should be languishing in a Federal Pen awaiting a treason trial. But alas for the accuracy of your "reporting", this has not yet hit the news. Nor ever will. Keep taking the tablets Iain.

  10. I thought I was on there already Iain but it appears not.

Cassilis is both a Scottish blog and a losely conservative one which must make it rather unique surely...?

Anyway, you can place it wherever you see fit...

    Cheers....

  11. Musings of a reactionary snob, but I think he's already on your non-aligned list Iain, about as non-aligned as Guido is ;-). Kind of a mixture of the old Fathers day articles and Devil's Kitchen.

  12. I, too, was going to nominate Freedom and Whisky.

  13. You might just find some on the Scottish Blogging Roundup which started up again a few weeks ago.

  14. Hi Iain,

I linked to your blog a wee while ago and I would very much like to get a reicprocal link.

    Cheers,

  15. Aargh!

Doctorvee has picked up my error. I should have written Scottish Blogging Roundup and not "Scottish Political Bolgs(sic) Review". That was an earlier version.

  16. Iain I link to your blog at gracchii.blogspot.com. Unfortunately its not Scottish but I hope it is a bit different.

  18. http://www.newscounter.com/
(Taken from Recess Monkey). It states that the site owner worked for several MPs.If Recess Monkey linked to it I assume they were Labour? It's a great idea in principle as long as it's impartial.I suggested something similar 'Newswatch' where panels of left and rightward leaning journalists would vote on any bias of a political nature in a story and such story scoring above a certain level should be subject to greater scrutiny. Now that newscounter has arrived,a very close eye must be kept on it.

  19. Did you see the Blunkett-believed-urban-legend and reported it as fact as Home Secretary to the PM, causing a security scare story Iain? I think we would all like a chance to comment on the latest revelation about a man who should never have been allowed anywhere near government.
BBC story on Blunkett's latest extraordinary gaffe.

  20. J. Arthur MacNumpty is very good.

He also has links to other Scottish blogs.

  21. For the sheer entertainment value of a Scottish Labour councillor's descent into narcissism and confusion read Councillor Terry Kelly's Blogspot.

I imagine the likes of Kerron Cross and Bob Piper who know about blogging's pitfalls will be cringing at the embarrassment.

  22. Farrer's favourites is a fine list, but consider also

    http://a-place-to-stand.blogspot.com/

He certainly is capable of making me wonder "I didn't know that - can it possibly be true?"

  23. I've linked to you on my blog since like September so can I have a reciprocal link? You can put it wherever you feel is most relevant.

  25. I suggest including A Big Stick and a Small Carrot with the best Scottish blogs.

  26. You have kindly linked to Arthur's Seat since your blog began; Arthur is now in residence at The Select Society: http://theselectsociety.com/blog/

  27. I second the calls for J. Arthur MacNumpty, also CuriousHamster is very good.

I'd ask to be included but I've not been blogging very long, so don't want to get ideas above my station!
