Are You Finking What I'm Finking?
It had to happen in the end, and I'm delighted to report that Danny Finkelstein, Comment Editor of The Times has started a Blog. HERE. And very entertaining it is too. Mr F has what I would regard as a dream job - deciding what appears in the Comment pages of The Times (so far no article from yours truly...), writing the odd column when he can be arsed, and writing a column on football in the Sports Pages. Oh what I would give to be offered a football column. It's about as unlikely as West Ham signing the two best footballers in South America, I suppose...
Depends how you interpret signing, I suppose. And how you rank Ronaldinho.
ReplyDeleteThought Tim Hames was comment editor.
ReplyDeleteThis whirlygig of banner colours is very downmarket, Iain. Keeping one banner up for a week to establish an identity was sophisticated. This is Woolworth's.
ReplyDeleteSorry Iain but West Ham did not sign the footballers. They bhave got involved with a dodgy dealer, his dodgy company and a bunch of faceless fraudsters. The footballers work for MSI, are controlled by them and will do as they are told. West Ham is their transit camp. This transcation epitomes the corporate corruption in football. West Ham will regret their short term opportunism.
ReplyDeleteBlogs by corporate persons are the drinks equivakent of a virgin mary. Look promising but fail to reach the parts that matter.
For once I agree with Verity on something. The banner thing - leave it alone! It recently went from a strange shade of "yellow"? (unhealthy subliminal suggestions of cowardice with a hint of bile, perhaps?) to black (I thought for a moment some senior member of the Party had died - all very Kremlin...) to an unpleasant Oaten-brown - all in the space of a few hours.
ReplyDeleteThe salmon pink was nice though...
Prefer Fark to Fink. Recycled Murdoch, with some good bits.
ReplyDeleteIt does seem like a dream job, but I wish he'd stop writing football articles, they're always ridiculously bad. Especially his perennially wrong "Fink Tank".

Short of screaming "gizza job, I could do that" you could not be more brazen... and as for the Hammers, they've got a couple of decent players but won't get in the top eight.
ReplyDeleteSeren, I would be very happy with 8th, thank you very much!
ReplyDeleteI'm not in the market for a new job as I'm fully employed at the moment. But thanks for your concern.
