Today's Sun Page 3 girl has called on Prescott to quit. She is Zoe, 24, from London, who says:
"There are big questions over the casino row and Prezza hasn't denied rumours of other affairs. He's in big trouble and is doing a lot of damage to the PM and Government".
That's it then, surely?
Why, he's not had her as well has he?
ReplyDeleteIf that was the case Andrew then Sun readers would be perfectly happy with John Prescott being in charge.
ReplyDeleteOh but Tony Blair has some really big tits.... Prezza, Gordo, Hazel, Straw, Reid etc etc etc
ReplyDeleteAndrew, Rupert M obviously doesn't mind too much if big tits are running the country - he backs the Fredom of information Act as well because it prohibits keping boobs under cover!

ReplyDeleteWell, I reckon zoe talks sense, but then these page 3 girls are acute business ladies who within a few years of getting their baps out have rental properties in marbella and tanning salons in Chingford!
Of course Jabba the presHut should be put in the wider context, and that is he is only part of the most annoying generation in history, ie. babyboomers who were always a disaster waiting to happen when they got their hands on power, which they have yearned for since plotting marxist revolution in the 60s, thankfully many are now are in the 60s themselves and like a nasty squallish thunder storm, their reign will blow over soon enough and then perhaps Britain can return to some sanity that my grandparents generation provided. New Labour is babyboomers personified.
Unless of course by then the damage is irreversible, which it could be. Huge numbers of decrepid hippies and vast numbers of illegal immigrants will make for a very odd country. I'm hoping to get out soon.
Now we now where you source your inside information from Ian!
ReplyDeletePrefer not to admit that I read the Sun myself.
Whats she like?....has she got big knockers?
Little known facts department - Auberon Waugh's first job on Grub Street was penning the prose to accompany the Daily Mirror's cheesecake pictures.
ReplyDeleteI saw this in today's Sun (not my own copy, naturally...) - Zoe struck me as a lady of uncommon taste and acumen.
ReplyDeleteIf bellwethers like Zoe are turning against DPM, then it really is all over bar the shouting.
The awful thought occurs to me, though, that Zoe might not actually have written the words attributed to her in the bubble above her head. If so, all our theories are out the window - but it would, at least, give her something in common with Prescott, who didn't write his own blog.
who are we to argue with such a perceptive judgement
ReplyDeleteIain Dale finding something interesting on page 3 of the Sun? In that case there must be hope for us all!
ReplyDeleteThe most worrying thing to me about Prescott is that, like it or not, he is the UKs face to the world when Blair is away. I hope that if the balloon ever went up any responibility he still has would be snatched away before he could do any further damage. Tact, probity and diplomacy are all alien to him. He is like an embarrasing relative you try to keep control of at a family gathering but always seems to have the knack of throwing up in the middle of dinner.
ReplyDeleteOn a serious note, can some informed person in matters of local-versus-central UK govt say why this is so out of order (according to Southend Council), quoting from the BBC news website today?
ReplyDelete"The Times newspaper says an e-mail was sent from Mary Spence, chief executive of Thames Gateway South Essex Partnership, to colleagues after a meeting with ODPM officials.
She wrote: "ODPM want to make a decision on a single preferred option in the (Thames Gateway) Strategic Framework - reason for this being that government policy is ONE licence [for a super casino]."
Rob Tinlin, chief executive of Southend Borough Council, responded that it was a "wholly indefensible approach from the ODPM which is meddling in the first degree".

Ghost of Humphrey the cat:
ReplyDeleteI would challenge your assertion that many babyboomers are in their 60s. By definition, very few can be that old. Babybooming was a post-WW2 phenomenon when all the "brave lads" were demobbed. That war ended in 1945, 61 years ago, and most of the troops were not demobbed until 1946 or later. Do the maths. With a 9 month gestation period, the oldest babyboomers would be 60 only this year and, unless they were remarkably precocious, very few would be likely to be plotting marxist revolution in the 1960s. Sadly, it's my generation who were doing that.
I worked for the Sun about two years ago and, amazingly, you really did have to ring up the page three girls and get their opinions on the burning issues of the day. Scorcher Zoe is not being misrepresented.
ReplyDeleteIt's all gone tit's up for Prezza now!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, mr eugenides, if as you suggest the Fair Zoe is indeed able to turn her bellweathers against the DPM (or indeed in any other direction) she's clearly rather erm... fit
ReplyDeleteSplendid.

ReplyDeleteDavid Chappel, yes I know EXACTLY who the babyboomer generation is my mum was born 2 days after VJ day 1945, one of the first and yes we are only at the start of a vast wave of babyboomers reaching their sixties, thats why in the last year we've started seeing all these programmes on TV made by petrified babyboomers about how nice we should be to old grannies, despite the fact for the last 20 yrs theyve ignored the war hero generation oaps as old fashioned. As I said give it a few years and the new labour ideals will be at the bingo club or perhaps with these lot I should say the skydiving club.
please note I dont dislike all babyboomers, just the snidy lefty elite ones. so New Labour is the pits to me as its full of them.
If there are any budding entrepreneurial page 3 girls reading this, get in touch i've just sold my biz and perhaps we could set something up together! Ha HA
Dislikers of boomers are heartily recommended to read the ever entertaining Joe Queenan's Balsamic Dreams: A Short But Self-important History of the Baby Boomer Generation (US link for greater volume of reviews)
