EXCLUSIVE: Further Prescott/Anschutz Revelation

I can exclusively reveal that two days after John Prescott's overnight stay with Philip Anschutz John Prescott flew to Los Angeles where he was a guest at a champagne reception hosted by the Chief Executive of AEG Tim Leiwke. AEG is the company which runs the Dome and is owned owned by Anschutz. This man is on record in the Independent saying that "a casino licence is fundamental to the future of the Dome". So if that is so, how could Prescott and Anschutz discuss the regeneration of the Greenwich Peninsula without talking about a casino licence?

I trust my friends in Her Majesty's press will be following this up during the course of the evening. Any further info before my Newsnight interview would be gratefully received.

  1. Sorry to burst your bubble... This info has been known to everyone in the broadcast media since yesterday. You don't have access to the wires, do you?!

Glad to see you're keeping up the standards of citizen "journalism" - and maybe also tell your readers about the email you sent to westminster hacks pleading they report your "exclusive", complete with link to this poxy post!

Nice try. Better luck next time.

  2. Not posting my comment?? Truth be told, it's probably hard to tell which was mine amongst the mass of emails telling you your exclusive was a load of bollocks. Here's an idea - take the post off your site. I've got a screengrab that'll show you to be useless, ill-informed, frustrated hack.

  3. Just saw you on Sky News @19:00 Iain - good stuff.

Question: If Jabba is now admitting that the ranch stay was a personal holiday (by declaring it it on the Register of Members’ interests) surely he should have paid the $600 for it, rather than the taxpayer?

And why did he require a "small number of civil servants" with him on his junket?

  4. blbbcaAll perfectly reasonable.

It is a largely unappreciated fact that sweeping down the south-facing slopes behind Schloss Prezzie are vineyards that produce the stunning Clos du Gob cuvee. He was just assessing the competition, that's all.

Rumours that it'll be renamed Veuve Prescott once Pauline realises that the gravy train is coming to a shuddering halt is merely an interesting footnote.

  6. Anonymous - No I don't have the wires. The fact remains this hasn't been reported on the broadcast media. And I don't plead. I alert. And by the way, your IP addres has been noted.
And I couldn't post your comment at the time beacuse I was driving to the BBC.
