Giselaa Staurt, Labour MP for Birmingham Edgbaston and a member of the Committee which quizzed Dr David Kelly, has just called on the Labour Party to give the £400 raised from auctioning the copy of the Hutton Report signed by Cherie Blair to charity. She was speaking on Radio 5 Live.
She must be worried about losing her seat. Four hundred quid would barely do Cruella's hair for a day. The little old ladies who dig deep for the People's Party must be really proud of Mrs Blair. Well what do you expect from the offspring off that "Scouse commie git"?!
ReplyDeleteThey should give the money to the Samaritans.
ReplyDeleteGisela Stuart? Surely she used to be a very loyal Blair toady - what can have gone wrong there?
ReplyDeleteI think somehow we ought to find out exactly who was at this Fund Raising Auction. According to the newspapers it was organised by James Purnell - new Minister of some sort, I believe, the auctioneer was Chris Bryant MP (of whom far too much has been seen, on the internet anyway) and attended by several hundred "Labour supporters". There must have been more MPs there, surely - perhaps the Chairman of the Party, Hazel Blears also attended............sounds like the sort of thing the Party Chairman would go to, does it not?
How about it Iain, you have connections!
jafo, according to reports, pensions minister James Purnell and health minister Rosie Winterton were present.
ReplyDeleteMore to the point who bid on it and who won?
ReplyDeleteWhat respectable charity would want to touch any cash raised in such a vile way? The money should be quietly returned to the person who paid it in the first place, and let's not pretend that the act in any way mitigates the original offence.
ReplyDeleteAnd, Jaffo, well Blair's toadies are behaving the way rats disembarking a sinking ship always do. Much screeching and nervous twitching. New New Labour - old, old hypocrisy. After all, who cared about the endless parade of sleaze, incompetence, dodgy fundraising and authoritarian legislation... as long as Tony kept delivering electoral landslides?
