Camden Council Bans Garry Bushell

Garry Bushell, it has to be said, is not everyone's cup of tea. The English Democrats have made a promotional video with him - click HERE - which is one of the more bizarre things I have seen recently. If I were them I would have chosen someone with slightly more universal appeal, but there you go. It seems that while Camden libraries will allow you to download the video, their political correctness Gruppenfuehrers have banned access to his website. Nice to know that freedom of thought is well and truly under threat in the people's republic of Camden. Perhaps the new council may change things.

  1. I must confess I'd never heard of the English Democratic Party, but I broadly agree with their point of view. Hopefully, the Tory Party will take the hint that the EDP and the BNP have tapped into a feeling of frustration by patriotic people at the way liberal commentators have treated them with contempt.

  2. Maybe just like me they can't stand Gary 'no one else quite so irritating' Bushell!

  3. Being of a rock and roll disposition, I remember when Bushell used to write for 'Sounds', and he was really quite amusing. At the time he was strongly associated with the extreme left, and I believe he wrote a long mea culpa about it when he signed for The Sun.

  4. Right or wrong, they have got a solid point of view to persue, being english myself, it is an insulting situation that to profess any patriotic stand, immediatly brings accusations of fascisism. I think many english people have frankly had a gut full of PC Bull, whether on the right or left of politics. I have no problem with respecting other cultures, I just don't want to embrace them thank you.

  5. The problem with that video is the swearing -- it really limits its appeal. As a Conservative my outlet for concerns about the English and the democratic problems represented by devolution is to join the Campaign for an English Parliament (http://www.thecep.org.uk).

  6. Banned the EDP? Pathetic. As a patriotic English tyke, if they get someone standing in my area, I shall vote for them.
I saw Clark on TV this morning, being asked about "The English Question." He acknowledged problems with the EVOEL, but went round the block to avoid mentioning an English Parliament.
As a lifelong Conservative voter I pledge my vote to the party that will give us our own Parliament. My MP is Greg Knight and he toes the party line on this. Sorry Greg, but time to put democracy for England at the top of the agenda. (enjoyed your books, by the way. I guess that's my autographed copies gone out of the window?)

  7. I don't quite understand. You say that while Camden libraries will allow you to download the video, their political correctness Gruppenfuehrers have banned access to his [Garry Bushell's] website. On what grounds? As you suggest, he's not everyone's cup of tea but what material on garry-bushell.co.uk is considered so objectionable that it can't be accessed on Camden's computers? (His 'Garry's Goofs' section, similar to Private Eye's Colemanballs, is quite amusing, by the way)

  8. “We aren’t as militaristic as the German, or as xenophobic as the French.” Classic.

Moments of inspiration there, but I could have done without the approving references to known thugs.

There is also zero point voting for any small party such as the EDP, UKIP or the Lib Dems.
