Whatever Next: John Reid on Drugs!

Just when Blair thought it couldn't get worse, it has. Soft drugs have been found in John Reid's house. Anyone would think Gordon Brown was orchestrating all this like some James Bond baddie. Oh well, better carry on the doorknocking! Every single one is Tory so far - but admittedly I'm in Tunbridge Wells!

  1. Oh come on Iain- they all can't be Tories in Tunbridge Wells...I distinctly remember 'Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells' in the 90's (some goofy fruit cake who wrote to all the papers all day, moaning about the Tories).Find 'Disgusted' and tell him/her a few home truths about Labour...and the opportunities lost for our country since that bad day in 1997...or was 'Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells' a hack in Labour HQ?

  2. The BBC website was reporting on this story earlier this morning but, curiously,it now appears to have disappeared.

  3. taxcutter - the ward where I live is a LibDem seat, not Tory, and we're trying to win it back!

Anonymous, admittedly when I posted that I had only called on 4 houses!

Firstly love your blog it by far and away the best political blog out there, now, any chance of finding just how this cannabis came to the attention of the police, what exactly were they doing in Mmr Reids house?

  5. anonymous, i think it was a routine security sweep. Rumours that Gordon Brown had ordered it appear wide of the mark...!

  6. I mean come on, do ministers really have coppers coming around to their houses rifling through drawers?
I can understand maybe a sniffer dog looking for explosives, however, even that is stretching it, but a drugs dog? btw the two dogs are not usually interchangeable.
Bet Cameron keeps quite on this one as well (+:

  7. But surely, if it was a "routine security sweep" why wasn't it found during the last "routine sweep"? Couldn't have been there long, could it? Plus, I agree with Anon above - you don't use a drugs dog to look for explosives, and an explosives dog wouldn't find drugs, surely. Need more explanations here, I feel.

John Reid used to be a drinker (of alcohol, that is) and gave that up, and used to smoke 60 fags a day and gave them up - he must surely find all this sobriety and non-smoking something of a strain.........
