PodCast 4: Interview with John O'Sullivan

My latest PodCast is now available for download. It's a chat between myself and John O'Sullivan which took place in Washington DC last week. John is editor at large for National Review Magazine and a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute. He was editor of the distinguished foreign policy quarterly, the National Interest, from 2003 to 2005 and editor-in-chief of United Press International from 2000 to 2003. From 1998 to 2000 he was an editorial consultant to Hollinger International Inc. and a leading member of the team that created the National Post, the first national newspaper in Canada that reached a circulation of more than 350,000 within a few months of its launch. In the past he has been a leading light on several UK newspapers, as well as working in Mrs T's Policy Unit. He stood in the 1970 election in Gateshead. John is now based in the USA and is one of the leading lights of conservative politics in America. He talks about his journalistic career in the UK, working for Mrs T, his view of David Cameron and the Anglosphere Project. He is currently writing a book on the roles played by Pope John Paul II, President Reagan and Prime Minister Thatcher in the collapse of communism and the revival of Western market democracies.

  1. Iain, very interesting if a little long during the working day.The guys CV took three minutes but I guess with a CV like that,it's goning to.

I thought he had Cameron spot on as I see it and I think it syas a lot that such a learned commentator has no real idea of what DC is doing.Indeed it seemed as if he wasn't sure he was a conservative.Interesting to what he said about Nixon.
