Question Time

I've just watched the first half of Question Time and am bored to tears by it. Boris is blustering, the LibDem Posh Spice woman is dreary beyond belief, Harriet Harman is, well, Harriet Harman and the other two aren't sparking either. Yawn. Robin Day would have livened it up by now.

  1. Perhaps I'm remembering a golden age that never was but didn,t senior Cabinet ministers from the Major era used to appear each week on Question Time?
Now Labour tend to put up has beens or never weres.
I hope the Conservatives don't fall into this . Question time is a good oppurtunity for all the leadership candidates to be seen by Conservative Party members and to demonstrate their ability to deal with hostile questioning

  2. Five people on the panel is too many and there is too much audience participation (and they are ALL dreary hacks). The host is also poor (comparatively).

  3. Increasing the panel each week by 25% from 4 to 5 has reduced quality by at least 25%. Now there's rarely time for a direct debate at all so much as the speakers simply taking turns to comment and then audience members doing the same. And whenever panel members do try to reply to each other Dimbleby tends to cut them off because they've already had their allotted seconds.

  4. I actually thought Dimbleby was OK, he seemed to be the only one that comprehended the question being put by the Campaign for an English Parliament audience members.

OK, so maybe Boris and Nadler did and chose to ignore it.

  5. Johnson and Harman were so awful, I can only assume they were put up for the programme because their leaders know there are at least 200 weeks to go till the next election.
