Please Stand
What an absolutely fantastic arrangement of the National Anthem.
Fantastic, amazing, wonderful arrangement, and superb performance. I've sung *an* arrangement of it by Britten before, which I thought was the best arrangement I had heard, but this was a better one. Thank you. Can I sit down now?
Are the wheels coming off the Union? You'll have to shout louder because its the first time I have seen it and good luck because its the only fair solution for Englands residents in this disunited UK.
I get my nuts out and wave a union flag of St George, st Andrew, Qatrikias; cothraige or Coithrige, Pátraic Pádraig Patrikios; Patric Padric Padrig Patric or some aeshole with an Irish accent waving an EU flag.
I was at the RAH for the Last Night this year and was sitting behind the choir. I was a bit sceptical when i saw in the Programme that we were to keep quiet during the first verse. It was an unexpected pleasure.
Was that you singing away at 2:28, on the last "Queen" ?

ReplyDeleteThe first verse sounded like it was being sung at a funeral. The second sounded like a march. Why couldn't they just do it in the usual manner?

Superb. Britten's arrangement - that man was a true musical master. He could do anything!

Yes its absolutely fantastic. The Bliss version of the National Anthem is also excellent. Perhaps they could play at next year's LNOTP.
