Well thanks a lot, Mr Speaker! At PMQs this lunchtime David Cameron was about to quote from TALKING TO A BRICK WALL by Deborah Mattinson, which my company, Biteback, published last week, when he was prevented from doing so by Speaker Bercow. "I don't think we'll bother with that," said Bercow. Cameron then got up and said "I was only trying to boost sales." And don't think I am not appreciative, Prime Minister!
Judging by the event at the RSA last night, sales are going quite well. Blackwells sold out well before the end of the evening.

ReplyDeleteinteresting that not once in the interminable brown years did our brave speaker pull up the son of the manse when he refused to answer the most straightforward of questions, yet within weeks of a conservative government he finds he can tell cameron how he should answer a question.

I have to agree with sinosimon. Bercow is getting a bit above himself. I hope Douglas Carswell is sharpening his long knife.

No it wasn't - PMQ's should be for answering questions about policy decisions not promoting books...
