Quote of the Day: David Cameron
"I was elected by you to give a lead and I am now doing just that." David Cameron in an address to the Conservative Parliamentary Party today.
I don't know David Cameron personally but I believe in what he has done today was genuine and came from the heart and not a political point scoring exercise. I sincerely hope that I will not live to regret these words.
No Andrew. DC is reacting to the strength of feeling in his own Party. This is called Democracy, which is a system of government that the Labour Party is very uncomfortable with.

Just watched BBC Six O'Clock news and they only showed about ten seconds of Cameron's speech to the press. It wasn't even a very good part. It was a good speech, but if it doesn't get covered properly it might have been a waste.
Parliament has been avoiding this for four years,it has been a year since the High Court ordered publication- this is hardly a suprise for the three party leaders
Dave did very well in terms of immediate crisis management, a lot better headlines tonight than could have been expected this morning, and longer term by his contrast to Brown.
If he were a Leader then he would not be reacting to reports in the Telegraph. It is Cameron who should be driving the Telegraph's political coverage not the other way round.
David Cameron orders his front benchers to pay back unwarranted expense claims. Gordon Brown orders the police to walk people the last mile to their home if they are afraid.
Putting these two together and knowing that the last mile of my journey home takes me past the Houses of Parliament a place swarming with thieves who specialise in mugging honest hardworking taxpayers like myself, I am going to take up Gordon's offer by contacting my local police office this very night to demand my escort home.
Labour came in with a promise to clean up parliment and they go out without a shred of integrety. When DC comes in, he must lead by example (and his cabinet)Honesty and respect for the electorate
This is all very positive, lets hope it continues. It looks like Cameron will have to develop his own set of rules, maybe with Clegg as well. Labour has been left languishing in the mire. First rule of life turn a negative into a positive!
Today's actions will force the anti-Tories and whingers to the surface who will moan and whine about him.... trouble is, everyone has noticed that Cameron is a true leader and that is what this country needs.
